If I recall correctly I think a member of HT shack was charging like $40 or so to calibrate the RS one. I think $100 or less is not a bad investment specially if you plan to add acoustic treatments.
Some info for you: http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...pre-order.html Check that forum for people that will calibrate the Radio Shack meter as well.
I will advice you you to get something a bit better and calibrated or get the RS and get someone to calibrate it for you. The RS is a nice meter but without calibration you may as well not do anything as you wont be able to know if the readings are right or not. Is like trying to edit photos in...
Hi! Just got my A2 and it came with two free movies. One that I already have and one that I dont care for. I am looking for: Happy Feet (this is my primary interest!) Matrix Collection (which of course has to involve cash from my side) Mummy Mummy Returns The Bourne 1 and 2 I will...
Awesome! The auto setup is great indeed....takes a bit to learn how to maximize its potential but even from the beginning the difference it makes is superb! When you compare the before and after it really shows how good it works. Regards
Thats why I had a Tosh HD-A1... :-) I love the 635 and it drives all my speakers without a hitch but the HDMI thing could be a problem in a distant future. For now, I am more than happy with HK true power ratings and sound quality. Regards
I see that is a global setting...if thats the case then yes, you need to check your weakest link when it comes to bass performance, which as mentioned is probably the center, and make that the cutoff point. No the best solution but if you dont have individual settings then is the only solution...
Maybe you can try to use a free program like REW to check you rooms response and speaker actual freq response. That way you can find for sure where your speakers begin to lose low freq performance. Other than that I will probably try the lowest point you can (50 in your case) and try some...
I think you meant AV123... :-) With that budget you can get a great system indeed....the best advice has been given but let me repeat it, try as many speakers as you can since speakers are normally a long term commitment. Regards
I second the av123 xseries...either the x-cs package or maybe even get the x-sls towers as mains. Either way its an excellent system and for the price its hard to match. Regards
While is always good to use material you know by heart I will also recommend the Chesky Ultimate Demonstration disc as it has tracks that focus in different areas like depth, rhythm and pace, etc... awesome recording. Regards
Good job expressing your feelings. Yes this speakers represent insane value. I just use my full x series setup for a movie yesterday and was blown away by the clarity...the x-cs really delivers clean dialogue. I use 3 X-CS for center and rears and the X-SLS for mains. Thanks for sharing...
Is not about been open minded but when you asked for input please make sure you really want input and not just for people to back up what you want to hear cause when it goes the other way you then get defensive and now try to make us look like the bad guys.... The fact that they sell the...
I believe some forum members with good knowledge already tried to answer your post but you got all defensive on them and you wonder why you dont get more feedback? Are you looking for the thruth or someone to backup your decision? The fact is that instead of paying $269 for those towers you...
