I agree on the horn section comment. It seemed like a nice addition at first, then it became too much. Guess I'm a sucker for the classic Eagles sound.
It's almost wrapping up here. The mix was terrible throughout. the horn section overpowered everything else, vocals were buried, hard to hear at times. The mix seemed to get a little better near the end. Don Henley's voice has lost some of the high range. Glen Frey sounds pretty damn good still...
The front L/R and side L/R are Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors. The center is the Cremona Center. And of course the sub is the PB2-Ultra. The frontend is a Lexicon MC12b, with a Theta Dreadnaught II in 7 channel configuration. I plan on adding two rear channels sometime down the road.
I've been on the road and still haven't had time to calibrate/test/listen to the sub. I hope to have some time this weekend. If I find that I'm really unhappy with the PB2-Ultra, I'll either return it, or sell it. I don't think that will be happening, though.
Up till a month ago, I had those very same Aerial speakers in my room. I had the Rosewood finish LR5's up front, Rosewood CC5 center channel, and black SR3's on the sides. My sub was a Velodyne HGS-18 (now a black SVS PB2-Ultra). That Aerial speaker lineup was just absolutely killer. In the...
Those are Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor speakers. I have the matching Cremona Center speaker as well. When I started looking at the PB2-Ultra as a possible replacement for my trusty old Velodyne HGS-18, I had some of the color samples sent to me. The four color options it comes in didn't match...
That little bloated sound was not the reason for the upgrade. I upgraded just because I wanted to try out something new. I suffer from incurable upgrade-itis. From home theater gear, to car stuff, to computers, I have a bad case of the disease. Does anyone know of a cure? :)
Just got a new black SVS PB2-Ultra sub yesterday afternoon. It will be replacing my trusty old Velodyne HGS-18 sub. The HGS-18 wasn't lacking in low end, but it was little bloated sounding to me at times. I knew the PB2U was going to be bigger than the HGS-18, but until you get this beast of...
I have a Velodyne HGS-18, along with Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor's for the front and rear surrounds, and a Cremona Center. I've been contemplating replacing my Velodyne HGS-18 with the SVS PB2-Ultra. My question is how does the PB2-Ultra sound different from the HGS-18?
By the way, my email is [email protected]. another option is to upload them to me at my FTP site, and I'll transfer them from there. That might be easier, if you know how to use FTP. Email me for the site and login info if you want to go that route.
I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a SVS PB2-Ultra (will be replacing my trusty old Velodyne HGS-18) and wanted to see if anyone here had one of these. I'm leaning towards the Natural-Blonde color. SVS doesn't have many pictures of the Ultra on the site, was wondering if any of you out...
Start with the best sounding center channel you can find, and build out from there. That's what I did, and I ended up with the Aerial Acoustics CC5 for the center, LR5's for the front L/R, and LR3's for the sides. If you have the room for a CC5, you won't find another center as good sounding as...
I'd guess around $6k. I also have a MC12b, why are you selling yours? I just upgraded my amp to a 7 channel Theta Dreadnaught II. My setup has never sounded better.
