I'm not sure. I always use the amplification. One of the features I find appealing is that this antenna has "both" - meaning the amplification and the "rabbit ears".

Last night, TCM showed an hour-long documentary about John Ford. With all of the extant docs about John Ford, I would guessed the doc shown last night was *not* new, but from the info available on the on-screen program guide - maybe it was. I DVR'd it. Did anybody else?
