You can get one here: http://greatwindup.com/plastic/pb0112.htm Here's the description from the website: PB0112 Magic Bank! Straight from the 60's! Place a coin in the slot, and out of the trembling box, a hand will emerge to grab it. Battery Operated.
It's called superheating. I had it happen to me once when I was heating water in a glass measuring cup. The microwave was eye level, right above the stove so the water was going and I was at the stove cooking something and then "WHOOSH!!" I jumped backwards and nearly landed in my sink...
I briefly stole a couple of shirts from the Gap a while back. My wife was looking around so I wander over to the guys section and pick up a couple of shirts. Wife proceeds to look... and look... and look... and finally decides she doesn't wan't anything so we leave. A couple of minutes later...
Some guy named Gary was the previous owner of my phone number and apparently he has a hard time remebering to return his videos. Once a month or so we get a computerized reminder from Blockbuster reminding Gary to return his videos and listing the movie titles. Gary doesn't have very good taste...
I hate shaving so I've had facial hair since the moment it was thick enough to keep. For the past five years I've bounced between the goatee, the chinstrap, and a full blown beard. I have long hair though so I'm not really trying to fit into Gary's respectable but rebellious image. I've been...
Another vote for copies. I have ~40 CDR's loose in the covered center console in my car. :rolleyes:I like having a large selection of driving music and not having to care about scratching the CD's.
You can get most of the Windows media samples that CDNOW carried from music.msn.com. It's pretty good for popular and jazz music but not very good for classical, though. They stream their samples from the same server that CDNOW used so it's got most of the same titles. And I found that you can...
So the finish of the race boiled down to which of the three teams could hail a cab the quickest and ride to the finish line?!?! How disappointing! I'll try and remember to skip this one next season.
OK guys. I just rented Timesplitters2 and it's driving me nuts! It didn't come with any real instructions so I have a few questions. Does turning the crosshairs on actually to anything? What does the Auto-Aim feature do? I can't tell any difference. Is there any sort of health meter? I...
Are you using a power strip? If so, check that. I had a low level hum induced by my no-name power strip. I found that the loudness changed with the relative position and orientation of the power strip to my reciever or amplifier. I purchased a $50 TrippLite Isobar and the problem went away. It...
Even if you get a full 1% rate discount (which you most likely can't) on the 5yr loan, going from a 5yr loan to the 15 yr loan with overpayments equivilant to the 5r note wouldn't make much difference. Maybe one or two extra payments beyond five years. And if you have the means to pay off a...
If you unplug you cable from the wall does the remaining 2% of hum go away? I had a cheapo power strip in my system that was causing a hum similar to my cable hum.
My cable hum was an all or nothing signal independant of sources being turned on or off. The power strip induced hum changed...

Iain, you beat me to it. My damn coffee fix slowed me down. :) I have both of those remasters and they sound much better than the originals. The guitars are just really thick and chunky sounding and and the drums totally pound!
I'm really curious to see how much Steve Hoffman could do with...
To take this thread in yet another direction, I saw this show on one of the educational channels a while back about how, in the past, countries have tried bringing down their enemies' economy by flooding their market with counterfeit bills.
Apparently, during WWII, Germany was secretly...
On Metallica's Live $@#&: Binge and Purge, in one of the videos, Jason Newstead hit's (and holds) a sour node toward the end of his bass solo. You can him wince, pause for just a moment, and then he walks down the scale to get back in the correct key. :) It's right before the other guitars...
Kill the penny, keep the dollar bill!
I went to the Post Office the other day to get some stamps and all I had was a $20 bill. Do you know how heavy thirteen dollar coins and change is in your pocket? I bought another book of stamps just to lighten the load! I spent a few more at lunch and...
This reminds me of an amusing story. I don't postdate checks but a few months ago I accidentally postdated a check for a furniture payment and someone on the other end held it! It caused all sorts of trouble.
I wrote and mailed the check November 24, due December 1. About a week into December...
Hmmm. I guess that would be when the mulder-looking alien guy came after him. But what happened to the alien in the tank then? I haven't been able to keep up with this show since the movie. Are we hosts to aliens, food for the aliens, alien hybrids, freinds, enemies, science experiments...
What I really want to know (and maybe they already answered) is, what ever happened to the bald genius kid hanging out with the alien in the reactor core of the power plant?
Think they'll answer that now that we're in the home stretch?
Yeah, I always get comments over the most inane things, like if my checkout at the grocery store includes ground beef and taco shells. "I know what SOMEBODY'S having for dinner!"... :rolleyes:Yeah that's some dangerous information you got there buddy! Use it wisely!
I never get comments when...
I've used Turbo-Tax for the last few years. I recently borrowed a copy of Tax-Cut to try it out. For the basic stuff like entering W2's and other info they were about the same. I like the layout of Turbo-Tax better but that's probably because I'm used to it.
I found Turbo-Tax much easer to...
