Thanks for posting this review, Dennis. This is independent filmmaking in its truest sense: independent production and distribution, and a perspective on a controversial issue that you would never get from Hollywood. Escape from Hollywood--as they say on the IFC--indeed. I hope that no one...
I believe that MGM's releases have only been announced through September, so it's still a very possible 2003 release (whoops, guess I just jinxed it with that statement). I don't think that it fits any of MGM's "title waves," so it's anyone's guess what marketing reasons will determine when it...
Yes indeed . . . it's about time we heard something about this one, especially considering that earlier this year, William Friedkin himself said that it was done and ready to go.
I too am wondering just what in the wide, wide world of sports is going on with this one. It's been confirmed all over the place as coming soon, and yet DVDFile just announced MGM's September titles and it's not listed. Does anyone know anything about when MGM is planning to release it? Anyone...
Cheer up, fellow Alec Guinness maniacs. In April, I e-mailed Anchor Bay for a more specific idea of when to expect the Guinness collection. A reply came back: September.
Now, considering that almost all of those most recent Anchor Bay announcements at DVD File are August titles, and that...

I just wanted to say a sincere thank you to Peter and everyone at FOX for this wonderful DVD. I remember asking about it during the 2000 chat and, to my happy surprise, Peter subtly indicated that it would be coming in 2001. Sure enough, I now own it and will repeatedly enjoy it. Thanks again!!
This Is Orson Welles, Peter Bogdanovich's book collection of his interviews with Welles, does contain an appendix which describes the scenes deleted from Ambersons. Bogdanovich could possibly make this extensive proposed DVD happen.
Dear Disney,
Thank you for planning the upcoming TRON 20th anniversary two-disc special edition. The features look phenomenal, but I would like to suggest one feature that may not be already planned: Wendy Carlos' entire score in isolated stereo.
Specifically, Carlos has posted on her...
One other Warner-controlled title with a MAJOR cult following: Night of the Lepus. It would be so sweet to pop the DVD in and see a "giant" rabbit jump right into the camera while on the soundtrack hear: "Ladies and gentlemen, don't panic, but there is a herd of killer rabbits headed this...
This is an excellent, excellent list that I hope catches the attention of our friends at Warner. Thanks also to Holden for mentioning The Yakuza, one of the most sublime and shamefully underrated movies ever made. I'd love to start a "Zardoz Online"-style website for The Yakuza, but do not...
