Anybody know if this has a "direct mode" for 2 channel music listening? Meaning a tone control defeat, and bypass digital processing when listening to an analog 2 channel source.

This looks pretty promising and good bang for the buck to replace my awesome but dated Marantz AV-9000. Emotiva Audio UMC-1 Audio-VIdeo Processor Anybody heard any other info on this unit?

I have read on "other" forums to get the best performance from a plasma is to break it in with a special DVD at lower settings for its first 100+ hours. Have any of you done this? Have any of you not bothered and had no problems with your plasma?

Forgive me if this has already been asked. But will Paramont and Universal continue releasing movies on HD-DVD (and SD-DVD) only? If so, I don't think HD-DVD will be completely dead.

Yes, thats right. In the 40 to 50 inch range. My current situation I will only be sitting apprx 6 and a half feet from the screen. My living situation will probably change in the next year and then I plan on upgrading to a larger screen, so I'd like to get something affordable in the above size...

Good question. Would anything above the $40 Grado black be overkill on the DP-300F?

Yeah, my dealer highly recommends using a $40 Grado Black cartridge with it. Said it will dramatically improve the sound.

I still use my Marantz remote that came with my Marantz AV9000 (circa 2000) which is the exact same remote as the Mark II remote. Still in love w/the remote, operates everything w/ease, and they can be had pretty cheap on eBay.
