I'm sure that at some point-be it while writing the scene, or rehearsing the scene, or while the mechanics for the pods to spin were being made-the thought was had that they could simply have the pods facing forwards when the two enter and save a lot of money and time. That the film goes out of...
Some recent ones.... Killer7 on Gamecube The level in the school, with the man hanging, and the line of bad guys on the stage. So surreal and brilliant. Psychonauts on Xbox Near the front, when Raz enters his own brain. When he goes inside the carriage which is full of TV static...
Many publications and TV stations refuse advertising, most large theater chains refuse to show them, and most large rental and retail chains refuse to stock NC-17...this isn't due to public pressure. The MPAA is a censor board, plain and simple.
I am currently seeking an Xbox 360 and have a question about Live: I have heard that you can transfer your Live account, does this mean that the remaining subscription I have for Live goes towards a Gold plan for the 360 or does that mean simply that I can keep my username, friends list, etc.?
Thanks. I know that both are HD, but it seems that the default resolution for many games on the 360 is 720p, which I figured could pose problems in conversion. Glad to hear that's not the case.
How do the games do converting to 1080i? I don't have the ability to do 720p and I see many reviews mentioning that you need to see the games in HD to get the full effect. Is it a noticeable step down in quality from 720p? A noticeable step up from 480 i/p?
As a fan of his darker material I wasn't disappointed, but I noticed that he was struggling at points. He appeared to be sick, his eyes were off and his cheeks swollen. He struggled where usually he is technically brilliant. I've seen him interviewed recently and didn't notice anything, so I...
I saw an ad for a book Turner Classic Movies is publishing on If... along with books on (if I remember correctly) The Red Shoes and Black Narcissus as part of a classic British film series. I can't find them on their website, but I thought this might precede a DVD release.
I rented the current Raro DVD and didn't find much fault with it, but it is a bit prohibitively expensive with the included Holy Mountain which is apparently a terrible transfer. I would certainly buy an American uncensored edition.
Deepdiscountdvd.com usually does go towards the end of the estimated time. In the US it says 5-10 days, and it usually takes 11 business days for my DVDs to arrive. Their 2-day shipping, in the US, is accurate and they usually are the cheapest. I would not be concerned that it has taken 18 days...
You may know about this site, but Video Help lists whether a player is unlockable or not and usually how to do it. Also, from a sidebar link on DVD Beaver: Multi-region players at Amazon UK.
Generally, they are. You can get Au Hasard Balthazar and The Phantom of Liberty for the same price as Napoleon Dynamite or Coach Carter. Even their special editions aren't outrageous-compare The Rules of the Game to Master and Commander. Criterion has really gotten pretty much in line with...
This sounds pretty bad for the HVE label which seemed like it was coming into it's own. Do we know how this will effect Criterion? The distribution line makes it sound as if they won't be involved in development.
I'm excited for all these, but Le Samouraï is probably at the top of the "must buy" list for me. The French DVD (reviewed at DVD Beaver) looks good, but is OOP. It isn't expensive used-around $25-but I fear dealing with used sellers who are selling in a language I don't speak. One of the...
I don't know that I have thoughts on this one way or another, but I remember noting this policy in regards to The Talented Mr. Ripley, where several adjectives are used before it settles on Talented. IMDB lists the complete title as having all those adjectives in place.
I have it checked out from Gamefly, and after playing it for 20 minutes, I will probably end up buying it at some point. I really dig the style and as soon as I saw Iwazaru I knew it was my type of game.
Unlike Doom 3, which had an added co-op mode, I haven't heard about anything that would make me purchase HL2 for the Xbox if I've played and beaten the PC version. I'll probably at least rent it since I loved HL2 on the PC very much, and would like to experience it in 16x9 on a larger screen...
I got it working Michael. I believe it was having problems with my Firewall. The only problem is I need to upgrade-the game runs (and looks) awful on my setup.
The demo crashes my computer anytime I try to join a game, single player or multiplayer. I hear the Window's error noise, and then it gives me the load screen until I power my PC down. Any ideas what this could be?
Yesasia has a great selection. I've ordered quite a few things from Korean DVDs and think they are a great company, with very cheap prices. Obviously, Amazon Japan has the Amazon name and is probably the place to go for Japanese DVDs. A company I haven't used but that are supposed to be okay...
