Thanks for the other advice! One of the projectors I am strongly considering is the 7200/7205 from Incocus. So, what was special about their wire? If I did their projector would I need to do that one? Can you post a link on where you got it?
I don't have a projector yet, but the ones that are on my favorite list all take DVI. Don't have a DVD player with DVI yet, but the Denon 2910/3910 sure look nice. My house is being built, which includes a media room, so I was going to run some cables now to run before the dry wall goes up...
I have the answers for your problems....SOFTPAWS. http://www.softpaws.com My wife and I have these on one of our cats - a cat that has been used to his claws for 7 years before we applied them. NO issues! and I mean NO ISSUES! He didn't even care, didn't do anything, just went right on...
I have heard rumors (not sure from where though) that Velodyne's HGS line has recently been given the THX licensing? Is this correct, or is this something I made up in my head maybe! There is no doubt in my mind that these awesome subs meet and beat the requirements to get the licensing...I...
I am trying to figure out the main differences between some of the Sony rear projection TVs that I see around here. What I see out there is the following: 65WV700 65WV600 65WS500 From what I can see, the WV700 & WV600 are pretty much the same. One difference that I saw was that the...
Thanks for the link Justin, it was very informative. Ling, thanks for the pics, those are some great shots of the Krell’s. I’ll have to do that factory tour thing on their web page, I’m sure that is interesting as well!
Denon 5700 driving Klipsch reference 3 series all the way around (series I, not II). Potential for any upgrade to the 7s.....maybe! Sub is a 6-7 year old Klipsch SW-12 Series 2. Great sub....just old in the tooth. Eventual move to Veloydne HGS18 sooner than later!
Wow!!! Justin, those specs are insane!!! 225 pounds for a single channel of 150 watts!!! thats crazy!!! There may be a V8 LS6 engine tucked into the casing of that amp! All along, I had been figuring that weight difference is relevant to price difference, and is probably also relevant to...
Thats what I had been thinking too, John. heat sinks...and depending on the size difference of those, and metals used...they could provide a good bit of weight difference too. I was pretty sure they weren't using freaky transistors that weighed 10 pounds by themselves!
I agree on the Lead bit...
This is probably a stupid question, but I'm just trying to understand the basics behind the hardware of some home theater equipment. Amplifiers (specifically...spereate units...not the amps in receivers) very greatly in size and weight. A first thought would be that it depends on the amount...
Hey Mathew...saw your post on the Klipsch forum and put a responce there. From the information on the 5600 posted by Jerry...its sounds really similar to the 5700 (which I own). The 5700 has 9 digital inputs, if the 5600 is as similar to the 5700 as it sounds, then it might have 9 as...
I guess I can throw another nod out to Klipsch! My current system consists of the RF-3s in the front, RC-3 for the center, and the RS-3s for the surrounds. I have them powered by the Denon AVR-5700. They sound so clean, and brilliant - I am definitely a big horn fan! These speakers are soooo...
ohhh...I love thinking up how to spend budgets! Here's one option (and this is coming from an Audio kind of guy) - bulk up on the audio portion, and reuse the RPTV until you are ready for Phase II!!! This would get you: Rotel 1095 THX Ultra amp (200 watts x 5) (2) Klipsch RF-7 fronts...
Hey, I have the series I RC3 Klipsch reference center speaker. Not sure if it has the same technology or not. I'll check mine out and let you know what I hear later tonight
Hey, thanks for the article - thats great reading. It had all three subs I had been thinking of - SVS (although, I was thinking about the CS+, not the Ultra), the Velodyne, and the new Klipsch reference series 15" sub.
Looks like the SVS did pretty well in competition with the Velodyne...
Thanks for the replies guys. I didn't realize that the 16-49 didn't play certain frequencies as high as the 20-39. Is the difference that big?
Tom - as far the criteria that you mentioned goes...
1) Room size - 22 x 18
2) Source material - 99% DVD!!! (various types of movies - I love...
I am so new to the SVS subs you all speak of, so forgive my ignorance. I was just enlightened of their power through this forum and a friend that spends more time here than I do.
Anyhow, going through the posts, it seems like most people have SVS 20-39 CS (or CS+) sub(s). Looking at the SVS...
