I just had my HT setup re-installed and I can't get any sound from my sub whatsoever. I have a Boston PV-600 ( I think that's the model number) and I have a Denon AVR-3300 receiver. I seem to remember having trouble the first time I set up the receiver, but I can't remember what the solution...

    Confused by Denon 3803

OK, maybe I'm "old school" or maybe I'm really just a dumbshit, but I am struggling to understand the Denon 3803. I had the 3300 which was difficult for me to get a grasp of, but the 3803 really baffles me. I guess I'm just not getting the concept of assiging inputs and Zone 2 and "multi" and...

Need help with set up in house in SF Bay Area

You're right, but it IS a weekend. I thought about this and given the size of the entertainment center and the difficulty accessing the wiring etc, I really need help. The center speaker is still working, but when I get a chance I'll need to take it in to get the post repaired. I don't mind...

Need help with set up in house in SF Bay Area

Well I got my new Denon 3803 and Panny RP-91 and I almost killed myself trying to set it up last night. My Boston center speaker fell off the top of the TV and almost killed me. As a result the little gold connector sheared off and I just have it connected very loosely for now until I can bring...

    Overheating Components

They said the receiver was unreparable due to a power surge. But I'll tell you I heard that whine long ago and never realized it was the fan. I have some type of Monster Cable Power conditioner power center thing, so I doubt it was a power surge......I forget what they said about the DVD player...

    Overheating Components

My Denon AVR 3300 and Sony DVP-S7700 recently died a miserable death. I brought them in for repairs and the estimates to repair them were so high that I decided to just cut my losses and purchase a new Denon 3803 receiver and Panny RP91 DVD player. I suspect that one of the reasons both of these...

    DVD->Denon 3803-> TV or DVD->TV directly?

I'm getting a new Denon 3803 and Panny RP91 DVD player in about 5 days (I cannot wait!). Now in the past on my old Denon AVR 3300, I used to have my DVD player connected to the receiver through the component jacks and then from the receiver to the TV. At one point I tried just connecting the DVD...

Best Panny DVD for under $400?

I've got about $400 to spend on a new DVD player. I've liked the old panasonic player I used to have, so I think I'll stick with them. But I'm a little overwhelmed by all the available models, so could someone steer me towards the best of the bunch? I don't need progressive scan, but I...

Sony KV-32XBR250 - progressive scan or not?

So just to be clear, there is some type of option for interlaced output on all prog scan machines? And there is no cost disadvantage in getting a prog scan machine? i.e. Can I geta an ovderall better player that's non-prog scan for the same money? FYI, I'm looking at the Panasonic players for...

Sony KV-32XBR250 - progressive scan or not?

I've got a Sony WEGA KV-32XBR250, that I bought about 3 years ago. Does anyone know if it's progressive scan capable? I need to buy a new DVD player and am trying to figure this out. Also are there any advantages/disadvantages to getting a player that is prog. scan vs. not with this type of TV?

    Denon AVR 3300 Zapped!

A very similar thing happened to my 3300. I was told that it was "beyond repair" due to a power surge. Can anyone recommend a replacement with the same or better features for around the same price range?

Replacing Denon AVR3300 and Sony DVP S7700

My Receiver and DVD player recently went on the fritz. I had a Denon AVR 3300 and Sony DVP S7700. I brought them into Good Guys repair, but they want $399 to repair the DVD player and tell me the Denon is beyond repair due to a power surge. I was never that crazy about the Sony DVD player which...
