Image Entertainment is getting quite a bit lax updating their search database engine on their website. The street dates for January are pretty much non-existant. Does anybody know of an alternative comprehensive resource for checking street dates? Thanks, anyone.
(message continued) DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS DRAGONHEART GODZILLA 2000 Now if only Paramount would release a special editon of DRAGON SLAYER we'd be all set.
The press release for Universal's THE SCORPION KING says nothing about any DTS track. This is a two disc set with soundtrack, music videos, and every other MTVish extra you can imagine. A two disc set with no DTS? C'mon get with the program, Universal. Then to drive the nail in the coffin you...
I came across this Web site that lists over a hundred classic Shaw Brothers titles for their first time (legitimate home video release (after years of bootlegging). Super Inframan and tons of classic martial arts epics are among the titles:

I notice a lot of votes for their Hammer films and Harryhausen flicks, but nothing about Toho classics. Columbia Tristar owns the rights to THE MYSTERIANS, BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE, THE H-MAN, and the original MOTHRA. We need all those films in widescreen for the first time please.
Then they...
CD Japan is advertising that their upcoming R2 version of this 1981 classic boasts an English Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack.

This sucks for R1 fans without an all-region player though. But it's good to know that there is a DD 5.1 version...
They are are doing a 2 disc special edition of The Sixth Day and they don't include a DTS track which we all know they have for the R2 release? There's no excuse for this.
They better include one on their special edition of Starship Troopers, that's all I have to say.
They are the last remaining hold-out on the DTS front, and have yet to release anthying in DTS (hell, even MGM used it for Hannibal). I was watching ST:TMP picture the other night and I thought how much better it would have sounded in DTS. Then I read on the Digital Bits that Paramount is...
For detailed reviews of those Shaw Bros. titles on DVD, (and many others) check out KUNG FU DVD:

They also have a great forum about martial arts DVDs.
This is great news for fans of Mel and the movie that
put him on the map. This January 4 MGM is releasing a
special edition of this violent classic! The best news
is that it will be the original Austrailian language
soundtrack, remastered in DD 5.1. Of course it'll be
16x9 enhanced as well.
Why No DTS track? Artisan did one last year for Ultimate
T2. In this day and age, how can you advertise a special
edition without including a DTS track?
