Hi all, I'd really like to get a copy of these discs. From what I've heard, the HKL version of Iron Monkey is the best one. Is there a better Fist of Legend than the Columbia version?
Hey all, I'm trying to remember the title of a movie that came out one or two years ago that I've never seen but am interested in getting. The director and actors were Asian but it was released in American cinemas. It was a high school coming of age movie. It has something to do with these...
Don't forget that this movie was co-written and produced by Luc Besson. His movies often have a light hearted, 'poppy', winking at the audience feel to them. The rap music fit in perfectly I thought. Remember the scene in Fifth Element with the diva singing and Leeloo fighting those aliens...
IMO, this was the best movie of the summer next to A.I.
Will you like the movie? Well, if you're a Luc Besson fan, you should definately pick it up. His fingerprints are all over it.
If you're a Jet Li fan, you'll probably hate this movie and every other movie he does because 'it's not like...
Great movie and great disc. I had hoped to see my favorite director, Luc Besson, behind the scenes or in an interview but I guess he likes to remain enigmatic. :)
It's an above average war movie with great production values but there's nothing really special about it. Lots of back and forth firing and nice action shots but it gets very repetitive after a while. While it had it's moments, I found the film to be emotionally uninvolving.
It shouldn't have...
I was going through the Pearl Harbor DVD today and noticed that the trailers there weren't the same as the ones I saw in theaters. There were a few changes, the biggest one being that Hans Zimmer's 'Journey To The Line' score isn't there anymore. What happened?
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly made me wet my pants. It's the first and only western I've ever seen (impulse buy at Wal-Mart for 9.46). Easily better than 90% of the movies out there. Trust me on this one.
This was my first Infinifilm purchase and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The menus were unnecessarily confusing and complicated and the transfer was sub par and the extras weren't that great. New Line could learn a lot from Criterion in terms of menu design. If this is what I can...
No contest. Go with Akira. Halfway through Final Fantasy I wanted to walk out but I stayed hoping it would get better (which it didn't). The theater was pretty full but it was very very quiet. The only time people laughed was when Steve Buscemi's voice came on....
Planescape: Torment. I just finished it a few weeks ago. A truly memorable gaming experience. Some of those characters and moments I'll never forget. And the music matched them all so perfectly.
Have you seen Kiss Of The Dragon? His english was pretty good. Being able to speak a language fluently has nothing to do with how good an actor they are. His character in KOTD was very convincing. Anyways, what did you expect? He has lived in Asia his whole life. Give him some time!
Finally got a chance to go through the whole set. The Albert Brooks outtakes were hilarious! I think that was my favorite supplement right beside the commentaries. I'd love to hear some more outtakes in future season sets. Preferrably for every episode. :) I'd also like to see the scripts...
I like MGM's artwork the best. Columbia is definately the worst when it comes to cover art. Their "special edition" banners don't seem to fit with the rest of the artwork.
Yeah, like I said I'm a Tim Burton fan and I'm interested in hearing his thoughts. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie when I saw it in the theatres. With so many good releases coming out this year, I decided to put this DVD on hold but with the announcement of the commentary track it shot up on my...
Wow you guys rock! I initially wasn't going to pick this one up, but will for sure now, just to hear Tim (I'm a big fan of his). Thanks!

This is one of the best movies to watch as a kid and has a very special meaning to me and no doubt a lot of other people. Seeing it for the first time in many many years and in widescreen almost brought tears to my eyes. The transfer is fantastic and the musical score has never sounded better...
Heck yes! Best movie of the year by far. In fact, I'm willing to go as far as to say that it's the best movie of the past 2-3 years... :) Here's hoping for a LOADED DVD.
