Personally, I hate the custom designs ala Buffy Season 2 (UK). It's just hard to get the discs out (you have to fold the cross out), and the cardboard gets tattered much more easily.
I love the packaging of the R4 Buffy sets. The box is glossy cardboard and extremely sturdy, and the discs are...
Please god no. I thought the changes to SW were a good idea at the time, because I just couldn't wait to see the films on the big screen.
But i hate the changes now. It destroyed some of the charm of the movies.
To be honest, I can't really see anything that much wrong with the FX in any of...
What about Amy Smart and Breckin Meyer's characters?? There was a hilarious sequence involving a helicopter and these two characters that (IMO) ranks right up there with the scene that ron mentioned.
So it's 8 participants in the great race, not 6 :)
The following was reported on www.movieheadlines.net today:
"Universal says that Back to the Future will be released on DVD In Australia sometime mid-year. However, it's a different story in America. Although the DVD's are due sometime this year too, they are holding off because they might be...
There were a few *technical* goofs - "Motec Exhaust System" (MOTEC don't do exhaust systems) is the most obvious one that comes to mind - but who cares??
Think about it - the bulk of it was factually correct. Amazingly a lot of the racing was correct and a lot of effort was actually put into...
Not quite sure why it's fishy upon reading through the other posts. The trailer is reported to be on the JP3 R4 DVD - not the R1.
No reason to doubt the validity of what the original poster is saying.
It's good news from my perspective, either way :D
As far as I'm concerned it's the strongest...
I know you were probably joking Jeff, but I would scream bloody murder if we got syndication rights issues here.
Wishing that sort of infliction on other countries just because the states as some crazy rights deals just sucks.
(whilst I'm not in the UK, I'm in Aus, we have a similar...
I'm sure this is true - it makes sense and I've read this from multiple reports (not taken from the same sources I might add).
1. International distribution rights for Universal films goes back to Universal at the end of this year. So this would make it a logical time for them to release them...
Can anybody absolutely confirm whether the music video in star wars will be in 5.1 on the R1 disc???
All the reviews for the R4 disc in Aus indicate it's only 2.0
I guess it's small in comparison to the overall disc, but I love that music video, and 5.1 sound for that would be sweeet...
If you want the story after Return of the Jedi, read Timothy Zahn's brilliant trilogy of books, "Heir to the Empire", "Dark Force Rising" and "The Last Command".
I consider these three to be episodes 7,8 and 9. Lucas will never do these episodes as movies himself, so it is as close as we'll...
Stallone actually isn't too bad in this movie - he creates (to me) the best character of the lot and stands out as the most memorable character of the movie.
I guess the benefit of writing, producing and starring in your own movie really should show since you know exactly what sort of character...
PayPal won't accept my credit card verification, grrr
Must be something to do with my bank's credit card and PayPal + International customers.
I'll have to wait until a PO Box is announced and post in a cheque then :)

Yep it's definitely 5.0
Don't let that put you off tho, despite the fact it has no LFE channel, the bass in the soundtrack is stunning!!
I remember after I bought this dvd how fantastic the sound mix was - it's very aggressive in the use of surrounds and the bass is thunderous :)...
While I'm sure the sound and video quality of the dvd are superb... the movie absolutely stinks.
As a huge Indycar fan, I had high hopes for this movie, and I remember sitting in the theatre 15 minutes in thinking damn, this is horrible. It didn't improve, actually, it only got worse.
As...
Not wanting to get off-topic, but I couldn't help replying to this...
Buffy is by far not a "kids" show for teenagers only. It's depth as a TV show is unparalleled and appeals more than ever to all ages and especially an "Adult" demographic.
The character development, themes, plot structure...
Yeah I figured the difference wouldn't be as dramatic since SW is 2.35:1 and BTTF is 1.85:1
Still it's widescreen! :)
The DVDs were never released in UK or any region outside of the states for that matter. Just another "strong" release rumour come and gone. sigh.

Craig...
I would have thought we may have heard stronger rumours by this time if we were looking at a christmas release too
Sadly, one of my favourite movies of all time, and I still haven't seen it in widescreen.
I remember when I first saw Star Wars in widescreen, it was a Revelation! Suddenly I...
Hi Omer, great thread :-)
I went to try buy Stargate R2 a week or two ago, but it's unavailable now, so do you know if there is a re-release pending (hopefully anamorphic)???
Thanks
