Mike, Here in little Tulsa. We have endcaps which are more dominated by BR mainly because of the deluge of new titles that came out. I'd say WM here is 65/35 in terms of shelf space. Target is 80/20.
A better amp section that meets its rated spec. There's a reason the 3808 wasn't rated as a S&V product of the year like the 875, the Denon 4308 or the Yamaha RXV1800/3800 series. Pete is pretty dead on.
I know Sunshine was one. I don't know about the others. I'm currently testing a Yamaha RXV3800. It's quite nice but a bit too shrill sounding for my tastes and I don't care for the EQ much as it's limited to >60hz. It's a loaner so I can't complain for the time being. I'll have to go back to...
I got a Braun 360 Ultimate for Christmas. I LOVE it. 360° Complete - Braun The negative is... it's pricey. As with anything, you get what you pay for.
Make a multi disc set then like Paramount and drop the combo. I would use Close Encounters as a good example but that's a BR disc with more capacity. I think it is a capacity problem and we're bearing the brunt of it here. Beyond that, what Jim K said.
Yes 7.1 DTS MA titles aren't recognized by the Denon models when sent bitstream. The other formats(Dolby True HD, and PCM) work fine. I'm impressed with it myself. It properly bitstreams audio even 7.1(as long as you don't own a Denon). The video looks spectacular. The loading of discs is...
The only issue is you won't see the newest features on the menu when you put a profile 1.1 or 2.0 disc in your player. If extra features are of no concern, you are fine.
Correct. Even the ones debuted at CES didn't have it. I think it's something Sony will not support going forward on their hardware. DVD-Audio is also going the way of the dodo bird.
Final standard means just that. I'm pretty sure 2.0 is optional. All it is is web interactivity which IMHO is a gimmick that won't really fly. The vast majority of people don't have the internet tied into their home media system.
Here, Avs anywhere really. The S500 and the S300/301 are both not upgradable to 1.1 and not 1.1. The only Sony player to be compliant until the newer models come out is the PS3. On the other side of the coin, Sony annouced a few players at CES that are 1.1 complaint if not 2.0 compliant :)
I agree with Jim. I paid $29 for my copy. Sam's had it for $27. Combo discs are atleast that much around here. I liked the film and completely disagree with the scores given above. Those are WAY WAY to low. The 3rd act was a letdown but it still doesn't diminish how good I thought the film...
That's why BD+ exists. HD DVD's are essentially like DVD's in that they have NO copy protection. AACS was broken a long time ago and they don't have a 2nd layer of protection.
A total of zero BR players decode DTS HD MA. Decoding and sending them bitstream are quite different. If you don't consider them different then 2 HD DVD players will sent DTS HD MA bitstream. DTS HD MA is not a moot argument because: 1. MOST BD players don't send bitstream. Less than a...
Pluses and minues: BD10ak: Analog outs + or maybe a nothing if you have an HDMI receiver/processor Decoding of DTS HD(not MA), Dolby True HD and PCM via analog + Not profile 1.1 or 2.0 compliant - depending if you want to see the latest in special features IR remote + doesn't play games...
It's not publicized. It's just common knowledge on an enthusiast site. Manufacturers with Profile 1.1 compliancy advertise is as such. The Panasonic BD30 is the only standalone available that is 1.1 right now other than the PS3. The Samsung Universal player is rumored to be upgradable to 1.1...
