I realize that this has mostly been a discussion about audio, but I have a video question... I'm thinking of purchasing a Blu-ray player, but I still have my old Toshiba 1080i rear projection TV with no HDMI. Is it worth getting a Blu-ray player if I am going to be forced to hook it up via...
Men Men Men Men Manly Men Men Men Men Men Men Men Manly Men Men Men Men Men Men Men Manly Men ooo ah ooo ah ooo ah ooo Men Men Men Men Manly Men Men Men Two and a Half Men for me :)
Last week, on a podcast interview with Star Wars Action News, Steve Sansweet confirmed that they considered a mega DVD set for release this year, but in the end decided that it was better to wait. Thus, no DVD box this year.
Is there an actual keep case under that slipcover? I would have purchased this immediately when I saw it, but Paramount decided to get all cutesy with the packaging... If I can toss the slipcover, then I may buy it.
I attended the red carpet world premiere of Cars at Lowe's Motor Speedway back in May, saw the movie 2 more times during the regular theatrical run, and then watched it again last night and I *STILL* cry during the James Taylor song and montage that accompanied the Interstate being built.
Only cheap horror titles for me, thank you... I'll probably snag Halloween 5 (Divimax), Saw Uncut, and a title or two from the $4.99 list at either Best Buy or Circuit City.
Lucasfilm: There have been some excellent points made in this thread, so I will not rehash them. I will simply tell you that Non-Anamorphic = NO $ALE. If I had wanted the non-anamorphic LD transfers, then I would have found an alternative way to obtain them, if you catch my drift.
Get this: At Best Buy, I had a copy of both Serenity and Battlestar Galactica 2.0. When I got to the register, I peeled one of the coupons off and handed it to the cashier. She scanned it and took $10 off of the purchase. She then proceeded to tear the other coupon off, scan it, and take $10...
Don't you love all of the people who buy a computer that fewer than 10% of the population uses and then complain because nobody makes software for it? :D
I just returned from my local Wal*Mart Supercenter where I purchased Episode III with Wal*Mart exclusive bonus DVD for $15.99. The DVD without the exclusive was $14.99. Also, they had just received their pallet display of $4.88 Universal titles. I purchased Fletch, Duel, and Cape Fear (1962)...
Far be it from me to dispute this claim, but the web documentaries are on the main DVD set, itself. Wal*Mart wouldn't re-hash them on their exclusive disc... I believe that this will turn out to be the documentary that was released just before Episode II hit theaters. R2 and C-3PO hosted a...
THANK GOD!!! As a Sirius subscriber, I can happily say that I don't have access to the gawd-awful NHL and baseball. To XM, I say: "KEEP EM, SUCKAS!" I'll just keep on listening to the NFL on my SIRIUS.
I am a Sirius subscriber and I couldn't be more pleased. I thank God every day that Sirius got the NFL and XM got baseball. There is nothing on the face of this earth that is more BORING than baseball... Conversely, home team play-by-play calls of all 30 NFL teams for every regular season...
Also, since we seem to be doing an informal poll, the set that came from my Wal*Mart: 1) Does talk. You have to press pretty hard, but it talks loud and clear. 2) Did come with a booklet. 3) Does not say "BEST BUY" in the volume ID.
It absolutely works! I did this very thing yesterday at my local Wal*Mart. Keep in mind that my local Wal*Mart is 50 miles from the nearest Best Buy. Chances are that if you try to price match in a city that has a Best Buy, then they will know about the Reward Zone and catch the fine print...
For non-RZ members, take the Best Buy ad to Wal*Mart and claim your copy for $19.99... Thanks Best Buy for making it so easy to price match! :emoji_thumbsup:
Just a friendly reminder for folks who are thinking of purchasing the Best Buy "UK Version" of Battlestar Galactica Season 1: This version appears to be bare-bones with nothing but deleted scenes as extras. If you want the REAL US version of Battlestar Galactica, you would be better off...
Except the trailers... :frowning: Fortunately, I have the 25th Anniversary DVD, so I will just keep it around. However, it would have been nice had they been included so that I could get rid of it. Oh well, it's like my dual copies of Silence of the Lambs and Halloween. I look at them as...
