Michael, I agree with you in principle, but it's possible they may make a version optimized for 16x9 which may be worth it. Considering that you're cropping top and bottom, rather than left and right, most of the time you'll probably be cropping relatively dead space compared with 16:9 to 4:3...

SciFi channel varies from pretty good to pretty bad, depending on the program. I have no problem getting Dolby Pro surround through my Sony TA-E9000ES, or DD 5.1 in the PPV or Starz movies that have it. Cheers, DJ
