We're looking to get my in-laws a new TV for Christmas this year, as they're among those who will be affected by the digital switch in Feb. They don't want to get a new entertainment center, so we're stuck finding a TV that is no wider than 29.5". They currently have a 25" tube TV, so we're...
What I would really like is to be able to work on my main monitor (sitting right in front of me) and put a DVD on my secondary monitor (a little off to my right). It sounds like that won't be possible unless that monitor is set to be my primary monitor.
So, I have a multi-monitor setup with a GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E (128MB) video card and two 21" Trinitron CRTs hooked up to it. Windows XP is able to see both monitors and I can use the desktop on both monitors as well. I'm also able to play games on the primary monitor with no difficulty. The...
Cardio is a given for me. That's how I've lost all of my weight thus far. As for my final weight, I'm not so concerned about that, just that it changes from fatty weight into muscle weight. Armando, that is a great site that will really help me put my program together. Thanks!
So I started at the gym at the beginning of the year (like everyone else) and have been going ever since. However, the last 2 months I've hit work pretty hard, so the gym time is down. Now, my goal was to lose about 80 lbs and gain some muscle definition by the end of July. I'm down about 40...
I would prefer a receiver because I use an FM transmitter to broadcast my whole house radio and the fewer parts I have to put outside, the better, plus I do need a higher wattage due to the fact that I have a large backyard. I'll keep it in mind though. Thanks!
I'm looking for a stereo receiver for my outdoor speakers. I don't need anything really great, just 2 channels, maybe 75-100 watts or so. Anyone who's got one sitting around collecting dust and wants to unload it, just let me know. Thanks! :D
Also, they are offering Scrubs: S1 for 24.99 and Seinfeld: S4 for 28.88. I'm not sure why all of a sudden they are offering these outstanding deals, but I hope they keep coming, there's a lot of TV releases coming up. :D
So, I picked up an SVS 25-31CS from someone on this forum and it's soon to be on the way. Now I need to purchase an amp for it. The only way I was able to justify getting the sub in the 1st place was the good deal, so I can't go spending a ton on the amp. Please recommend a decently priced...
Andrew, I'm in Omaha and have had the Cox HD-DVR for about 2 months now. It works ok, but the interface is nowhere near as good as Tivo. There are season passes in a limited way, but it doesn't do wish lists, can't search for programs by title, and occasionally runs into hiccups, which...
Are you kidding? Nothing beats a good folding chair. You can sit in it to watch a movie or put 4-5 of them in a row and you can take a nap on them. Or you can get a bunch and make a fort out of them.....Uh oh, I think I've said too much! :D
They will be on shelves that are mounted on the wall, so the speakers will be in front of the TV. I'm not sure what you mean by "invert them". Are you saying to flip the RL speakers upside down? Thanks!
I've got a quick question. I'm finishing up my front wall and would like to know if my chosen speaker placement will cause problems with the sound (due to the right speaker being closer to the ceiling than the left one - see picture). Thanks for any help! :D
As I understand it, you'll need to get the OTA signal. KMTV (Omaha CBS) removed their HDTV signal from the Cox system as of Jan 1st, 2004 due to a dispute over whether or not Cox should pay KMTV for the feed. Pretty crappy deal if you ask me!
Here we are in 2004 and I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about either of these movies? With all of the catalog titles being released, I can see these 2 slipping by without me knowing. If they haven't been announced, then let me put in a vote to release them! :D
Ed, I don't have the lights installed yet, but with your solution I could put X-10 switches for the lights back in my furnance room, avoiding any holes in the walls, and then use the wireless switch at the bottom of my stairs to control the X-10 switches....correct? Thanks!
Thanks for the prompt replies! I don't know much about X-10, but would I need some type of receiver to wire in-line with my lighting cans? Also, from the description, it looks like that switch has 3 on/off buttons and a dimming one, but could I utilize a computer based X-10 system to reprogram...
Here's a question for you lighting control experts. I have the following setup: 1 circuit w/ 9-50 watt cans 1 circuit w/ 4-50 watt cans 1 circuit w/ 3-50 watt cans I would like to be able to control those 3 circuits with a remote (either IR or X-10) and also from a set of switches at the...
Nobody else has any opinions? I really need ideas on whether to put the speakers on stands, mount them on a wall somehow, or put them in the ceiling. Thanks! :D
Ok, so I'm finally remodeling my basement and am to the point where I need to start auditioning speakers, so I will know where to run my wiring. First off, I'm looking to spend about $2000 on my first round of HT gear. I'll be picking up one of the SVS subs at a later date, so the sub can be...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: show me your "worst" Simpsons episode and I'll show you a show that is 1000x funnier than anything else on TV! :D
What happened to this thread? I remember all of the good natured ribbing from last year and was looking forward to handing some out as the Huskers go all the way this year! :D
Well, I'd have to guess that because both Friends and Frasier will be on their last seasons we'll be seeing a lot of this show in the future. I really enjoy it and hope that it continues to do well! :D
