I've been to DC a couple times and there are a ton of different things to see. It kind of depends on what you're interested in as to where to go, but a couple things that were interesting were Bureau of Printing and Engraving where you can see them printing money (it's only open for tours in the...
I'm getting closer to finally building my sonosub. I have a Stryke AV15 and will be powering it with a Rythmik 380w amp. I haven't been able to run the programs on a sonosub to get the size and port length to tune it properly as they seem to all be for boxes? But I had posted here and on...
I will be building a sonosub with the same components. I'm just curious if you mounted the Amp to the sub and how you did it. I've been contemplating mounting a box to the side of the sonotube so I dont have to cut into it.
I guess I would fall somewhere in the middle if that's possible. I don't really crank up the volume to reference levels anyway, so I I don't want anything "boomy". I will be upgrading from a JBL PSB-10 which sounded ok, until the amp went out. Thanks
I will use for mostly movies, probably 80/20 movies/music. Music is pretty diverse, from Country to Rap. I don't have a room size yet as I will most likely be moving in the near future, but don't want anything huge. I plan on using a bottom plate below the feet, I'd like to keep it under 5 ft...
I posted this on teh Stryke forum also, but thought I would get a good idea here too. I plan on building a sonosub with either an AV12 or AV15, but am not good with the modelling tools. I'm just trying to figure out what size I would be looking at to tune the sub to 17-20 Hz. I will most...
Now that the Stryke AV-12 and 15 are going through another pre-order, I am thinking that I should but one of them for my sonosub. I will most likely be moving soon so don't have any idea on room dimensions or anything. Anyone have suggestions on which driver to get? Thanks Fred
I was going to build a sonosub, but noticed no one here seems to be going that route. Is that just personal preference? Oops missed the sonotube in the last post! Sorry.
I will be in for one of the drivers, just not sure which one yet, for a future sonosub project. And the time frame withthe 10 week lead time will actually work out better for me as I won't be building for a little while.
Thanks for the tips. Does anyone have any reviews of the Stryke AV-12? It seems like they are very new, and I haven't seen any reviews around. It looks like the pre-order price is still available, and would be about $10 cheaper than the Tempest, but the Tempest is 15 inches right? I'm not locked...
I've been reading up on sonosubs through the links here, and am seriously considering building one. I would just like some advice on what driver to get. I'm going to be replacing a 10 inch JBL sub that the amp went bad on, so I am thinking 12 inch should be ok, and probably the PE 250 watt amp...
Thanks for the tips. I will try to find a sub to test the channel with. I don't think I can go without a sub for long after having one the last few years.
My Sub is a JBL DPS10 which is a few yrs old. I've checked the connections and they seem to be secure. I did more testing to get a better description of the problem. The sound is less static, but electric crackling. It is intermittent, to the extent that it only happens when there is a signal to...
I did something stupid, and plugged in an audio cable on my dvd player with the receiver and sub on and now get intermittent static when the sub is turned on. I don't know very much about the actual workings of something like this so I just wanted to solicit some opinions on what might be wrong...
I'm also very interested in any info on this new receiver, as I am currently auditioning a 1200 and am very impressed. But at close to $200 more, I'm not opposed to returning the 1200.
Thanks for the input. Anyone know of other receivers with all those features? I love my Yamaha, I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking any other brands.
I've been reading the threads about receivers to get but am still not sure. Part of it is I'm not sure that I need all that I think I want, and what receivers offer all of them.
I started the search with Yamaha because I have had a pro logic by them for 7 years. Now I need something with...
