No kidding. Since it has to be stressful, I'll give people some benefit of the doubt, but they come across as thoroughly unpleasant. With four person teams I expect this kind of infighting to become more common.
During the Katrina telethon Kanye West made some strong political statements regarding his feelings about George Bush. Mike Myers stood beside him and looked increasingly uncomfortable. I'm sure you can find video of it relatively easily. Did it seem like Steve Carrell wasn't in that many...
I'm going to give it a little more time--I think it's improved marginally since the mediocre opener--but I fear that this cast is being wasted on pretty thin material.
I'll take the Bransen family. I'll edit this post later with the final four. Final four: Linz family Rogers family Schroeder family (I know I'm editing this 14 minutes in, but I swear I haven't watched any of it yet. Just remembered this while I'm working on something.)
Just goes to show that we all see and hear it differently: From all appearances, it looks like MiG would have been gone a lot earlier in the season if they'd had the chance. Rightly so, I think. Marty never convinced me. I didn't care for his stage movements, and I wasn't all that...
Spoilerized just in case: For as much talk of friendship as there was in that group, I wonder if Ivette will even bother trying to stay friends with any of them. The only Friendship vote she got came from her partner. Maggie played her like a fiddle, letting Ivette run her mouth and creating...
Finally got around to watching Friday's episode. Even before I knew who had won, I figured that even if Janelle won the final HOH, there was no way she would win the game overall. As so often tends to be the case in these reality show finals, the person who gets to pick their fellow finalist...
RE: MiG
It's funny because it's true. I hope they reveal the order in which people placed in this week's voting, if just to see if MiG remained in fourth. I thought he was snooze-inducing last night.
MiG started strong on the show, but he's fallen considerably since then. J.D. is their man, no doubt. Suzie, who had some trouble with the lyrics, is going to hear that she's just not right tonight.
It's Catherine McCormack, not Miranda Otto. Some of the effects in this are unbelievably bad. My "favorite" has to be the actors walking in place in front of an obvious CGI background. When all's said and done, this film isn't as bad as The Cave, not that that's setting the bar very high.
Not that has any bearing on the truth of the condition, but wasn't there an X-Files episode about Vietnam veterans who hadn't slept for decades? I'm assuming that the breakout will come halfway or three-quarters through the season, but I wonder how long they can stretch out the show after...
Anything of note happen in the last half hour? My DVR guide only had tonight's show as lasting 30 minutes, so I missed the second half (and the announcement of the bottom three). I'm assuming that the bottom three didn't change from the early results. I've thought MiG was the right choice and...
You and me both. I don't like his stage presence, and his off stage persona seems so at odds with his stage persona that it rings false to me. That aside, I don't particularly like his voice, but apparently a lot of people do.
Last night might have been the first chinks in MiG's armor. As much as I wouldn't have believed it before, I think it might come down to Suzie or J.D. Both of them look like natural performers. Marty's appeal escapes me. For as much as Ty was criticized for being theatrical, Marty's antics...
Occasionally I read one of the live feed boards. The Fiendship has been much hated while Kaysar and crew were loved, and surely those viewers were a big part of Kaysar getting over 80% of the vote to return. I suspect that they also thumbed their nose at Maggie and crew in the best way they...
Yes, the golden power of veto makes the person who uses it immune from being nominated. (This wasn't the case when the veto was first implemented, which meant that usually no one would use it.) As for the poker analogy, it doesn't apply to Big Brother. There really is no way to "cheat" in...
I really dislike the team in control, so that doesn't help the show; however, in the past Big Brother usually goes downhill in the final month or so. It's not like a lot happens in the house anyway, so with fewer people around, it usually gets a lot less interesting. Also, sides are usually...
Considering that previous elimination shows have tended to use the minimum allotted time, I'm really surprised they stretched it to an hour. (The mansion recap getting moved to VH1 seemed to indicate the show wasn't doing so well. Have the ratings improved in recent weeks, thus a longer...
Dave Gilbert on MiG:
Glad to see that someone else isn't as impressed with her as many (and INXS) seem to be. Last night looks like her untouchable status has been dinged. Finally. Maybe INXS can pick her and Marty. She can do the happy songs while he can sing the darker ones. From what we've...
Marty is a good performer, but yeah, he has consistently proven yet that his style is totally wrong for INXS. For me, at least, the show "hurts" him because his stage persona seems like a big act, especially since it's about as far removed as he seems to be otherwise. Ty's technically...
No, it was more like, "I didn't lie. I broke my word, which I don't consider lying." It's amazing Kaysar didn't fall on the floor laughing when he heard that.
I wouldn't be surprised--and I can't say I'd blame them--if that's the case. Plus, I assume INXS played a large role in narrowing things down to the finalists, so it's natural to think that they had a good idea of who they'd like and who they wouldn't. Also in the mix had to be some picks purely...
All I meant, which I forgot to include, was that the way they said it seemed like an obvious tip that he's going to win. (Not because of his heritage, although that doesn't hurt.)
It was only a matter of time with Jessica, and Deanna won't be around much longer either. Suzie has been the biggest surprise for me. I've slowly comed around on her and think she might actually be a good fit for the band, although her low support in voting probably means she is out of the...
