I was encouraged buy Deepak's recent news, but I have yet to receive a letter like that from MGM. I'm trying to relax and hope for the best, but I, too, feel screwed for buying the Bergman set right away.
Great news, but has anyone heard from MGM regarding how they plan the handle the recall of the defective discs? I've called and emailed MGM Customer Service, but I've heard nothing back so far.
Yes I did call the toll-free customer service line. I got a recorded message telling me to send an email with contact info. I did, simple as that. Now I'm wondering if MGM has announced to anyone what they plan to do next in ther ecall process. I ordered my set from Amazon.com I'll contact...
I received my box set before hearing about the problems with framing. I've followed all of MGM's instructions regarding the recall of the relevant discs, but I have yet to hear anything about how MGM will be handling the recall. Unlike some in this thread, I am not convinced that MGM will...
FYI: The commercial video I own entitled "The Merry Mishaps of Mr. Bean", complete with "Merry Christmas Mr. Bean" bears the Tiger Television logo and was manufactured and released by Polygram.
On these dvds, there are the placards that say "End of Part One" and "Part Two". I've never seen these before in any of the PBS broadcasts or on any of the tapes. Looks like commercial slots to me.
Paul, Those tapes are at home right now, and I'm at work, butI think those tapes were HBO. Not sure, though. I don't remember seeing the Thames logo on it, just the Tiger.I can post again once I get home.
I have commercial video tapes of MR. BEAN that I bought 5 or 6 years ago. One of them has "Merry Christmas Mr. Bean" on it, complete with the "winning the turkey" segment.
Personally, I think the anger at A&E is somewhat properly directed. If they put their name on it, they ought to take some responsibility. I'm noticing all the cuts that are mentioned in this thread, plus the missing "winning the turkey" sequence from "Merry Christmas Mr. Bean", and frankly...
I don't much see the point of having a CENSORED and an UNCESNORED version of this set when the UNCESNSORED version offers language censoring as one of its features. What's the difference between the censored and uncensored versions, anyway? Besides all that, I enjoyed this set very much.
My copy of A LITTLE ROMANCE was in my mailbox when I got home from work yesterday. So, the title does exist, and it's well worth any trouble you face in getting it.
I got a notice late Friday saying that my copy had shipped from dvdplanet.com that day. That's good news. Who else ordered from them? Did we drain their entire inventory of A LITTLE ROMANCE?
Has anyone pre-ordered, or even ordered this title and received it or at least received a shipping confirmation? I ordered it from dvdplant.com because they were one of two sites listing it as "In Stock". Now they list it as "Out of Stock", as does dvdempire.com and there is no evidence of my...
Paul, I couldn't agree with you more. I can name 5 people in my town looking for A LITTLE ROMANCE, specifically. I am used to some of the titles I want not turning up at BB until 2 or 3 weeks after release. What strikes me as odd in the case of A LITTLE ROMANCE is that, for a while, it seemed...
Okay, I'm feeling better about it all now. I'll be completely at ease when dvdplanet ships the disc. Thanks for the info. Does anyone recall such a strange release process for a dvd in recent memory?
Okay, I've only been waiting for this title since forever. No one lists it as being in stock. Anyone have any clue as to what's going on with this dvd?
I'll second everything Bob said. The England-Pakistan connection was a real revelation to me. I was so used to thinking in terms of the US-Mexico dynamic.
Sorry to hear the music segment has been cut out of CASH, but otherwise the set sounds just the ticket. As for the price, I paid more for fewer episodes of FAWLTY TOWERS. Some dvd expenditures defy that sort of scrutiny.
