Hey...quick question: Did anybody record the first part of this that aired tonight? I was, uh, supposed to record it for my significant other. So, if anybody happens to have a computer based PVR and a recording of this and some decent broadband to upload it (yeah, I know...not likely), please...
Thanks Chad, I'll take a look at the tubes for burn-in tomorrow. Chris: They belong to my employer, and are currently hooked up to an SGI Onyx 2. They are basically no longer in use, and will be removed soon. What kind of cost would I be looking at for retubing? It seems these 9-inch tubes...
I'll have the opportunity to purchase a pair of CRT projectors in the near future, but I'd like to learn more about them first. They are the Electrohome Marquee 9500LC Ultra/P43 (Model Number 38-P15297-ST) and were manufactured in April 1999. These particular units have two RGBHV inputs on the...
I'm currently using an Epson PowerLite 7600p projector. (borrowed from a very awesome place to work; alas, needs to be returned soon, so I must buy my own) 2200 lumens, 400:1 on/off contrast, 1024x768 LCD panels. I'm happy with the picture, but the contrast ratio is defintely lacking a bit. I...
This isn't entirely on-topic, but related: I'm currently running the original JBL NSP package, and I wish to upgrade the mains and move those speakers to the rear for 6.1. What speakers should I use (same ones, or are there beefier models that will retain good imaging with the existing...
One of my TVs had an unfortunate accident, which resulted in excessive force being exerted on the F-connector input. It hung by a thread for a little longer, then detached completely. Is there any way I can reattach this myself? I am well aware that direct-views (or anything with a CRT for that...
I too recently received my new sub (25-31PCi). Tested it out at the office before bringing it home, making the ceiling tiles shake and letting everybody on the floor (and probably some not on the floor :) ) know about my new toy. (This was all after I realized that my new Onkyo 600 was set to...
Just a note to you guys - I received my Onkyo 600 from jandr.com today, along with my NSP1 speakers. Still waiting on my SVS, and no speaker wire handy to test my receiver/speakers at the moment. :-(
Daniel
Jim: I haven't talked to them for a couple days (didn't you know it was your turn? :) ). Will probably call tomorrow to get another update. Not too much concern here, as I have finals next week and really don't need extra toys around. Granted, I wouldn't mind stuff arriving on Friday after exams...
I gave JandR a call this morning...looks like my order is backordered, too. :frowning: They also said that there should be an order coming in later this week, and our receivers should be on that truck. We can only hope. :)
Daniel
Just bought it for $400 plus shipping, after convincing the sales guy that a (hometheaterforum.com) friend had purchased it at that price. Also ordered the JBL NSP1s (and my 25-31 PCi subwoofer, earlier today), so can't wait to get the gear. You're welcome to have a listen to the system when I...
Steve:
Regarding running two rear speakers off one amp, wouldn't this change the impedence? I'm pondering exactly this (planning on getting a Onkyo 600 once I find someplace to buy it, a set of JBL NSP1s, and probably a set of N26s for the mains, leaving me with two spare N24s and only one...
If what i've read so far is correct, the Onkyo 600 does not have 2 outputs for the rear channel. So, to keep things operating properly, I suppose I'll have to settle for only a single rear speaker. Or perhaps I'll just hold off on the N26s...
The PCi continues to taunt me...

Yeah...I'd much prefer to go with one of the models that cuts off at 16Hz, but that PCi has some serious value. And should be more than adequate for the apartment, too.
As for the apartment, two other people will live there, so its not *that* huge...tis decent sized, though...and I get to have...
Hey guys, I'm finally getting into my apartment so am ready to upgrade my home theater. For speakers, I'm looking at the NSP1s thanks to Phil's excellent material on them as well as all the positive comments. I'm thinking about going with the Onkyo 600 when it comes out, which leads to my...
I'll be ordering that exact combo (Onkyo 595 and JBL NSP1) right after Christmas. Or maybe tomorrow, but I won't be able to play with it until after I get back (leaving on Saturday to spend holiday with parents). Only difference is, I'll be going with an SVS too. Was planning on the 16-46CS, but...
I know this has been mentioned on the forum before, but I couldn't really find a definite answer. I'm looking into using the Panamax 1000+ or the Panamax 500. The main difference is that the 1000+ allows you to have switched components triggered by the preamp and such.
Would I be able to plug...
