I've had a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT for years now and have recently been trying to actually learn how to use it outside of "Auto" mode with the kit lens. So, my first step was to purchase an EF 50mm f/1.8 II due to what I'd read about its low-light/fast performance. While I learn what's what...
Bumping this one a year hence. My wife (well, we) really wants a simple P&S she can carry around and use easily. Our dSLR is a Rebel XT but it's big, of course, and adding yet another bag on family outings means it usually gets left home and I wind up shooting with my iPhone 4. Nice shots/video...
No disagreement here. That and Southampton Dock are a couple of their greatest and no one knows them. Waters did the latter live a couple years ago when I saw him on the "DSOTM" tour and you'd think everyone left. Loved it. :)
Santa was good to me and I also found a surprisingly heavy little apple under the tree. :) I've enjoyed the cd set, but I don't ever see myself listening to the 16-bit versions again, save for the monos. This is the way to hear the remasters. Until the next way, of course, hopefully 5.1. :)
The 24-bit part is interesting. Seems like we're being offered 16/44 cd, then we get 24/44 USB, leading up to (presumably) 24/96 on BD. The ultimate triple-dip in record time! :) Then there's vinyl...hopefully
On another note, I've really been enjoying losslessly streaming the monos to my...
I fear the amount of times I've mentioned it is far out of proportion to how much it really bothers me, it's but a small nuisance in contrast to how cool the packaging of both sets is. And I've already admitted to being ham-fisted. :)
One can only hope for mono and stereo on heavy vinyl. Wouldn't be surprised if these were sold only by the box, as the potential market is even smaller than that for the Mono cd box and I don't see Best Buy, Target, etc. setting up a section for them.
I actually found the plastic sleeve preferable to shrink wrap as it can be kept and used, unlike shrink wrap. What I don't really like, as I'd noted, is that on the fold-outs the disc is not easy to remove if you only want to grip the edges. All the more reason to rip 'em.
Looks like it depends. I pulled in the mono Revolver and it added (2009 Mono Remaster), but Abbey Road was just "Abbey Road".
Edit: Just doing the Stereo MMT now and it's calling it (2009 Stereo Remaster). The new Abbey Road replaced an old one, so perhaps it took the old name when I ok'd the...
I've never seen packaging this cool, truly, although it's not that easy to get a disc out (you almost have to grab the playing surface, or maybe I'm just more ham-fisted than you all). I plan on ripping them to a server so I don't have to touch them much. I may go totally geek-out on this and...
Wow, looks like the second allotment is going pretty fast at Amazon. My order placed just hours ago is still scheduled for 9/11 delivery, but now the stereo box says "Usually ships within 2 to 4 weeks" and the mono "Usually ships within 4 to 5 days.
I also pre-emptively ordered...we'll see what BB brings. :) Thanks for the heads-up.
Edit: I just noticed that since I placed my order they removed the back-order notices from both mono and stereo pages.
