I noticed in the dump bin at wal-mart today that there has been a new re-issue of Escape from LA with a new cover. Has anyone picked this up? I'm curious to know if the DVD is 16X9 enhanced. It made no mention of it on the cover.

I don't have an answer for what caused that problem but I have seen the same sort of thing with the movie "Cujo" and "Firefox" I found the picture to be too distracting so I had to just get rid of the dvds.

Alot of time some stores get exclusive two packs where the barcode is only on the box that houses the 2 discs. I see this alot at the wal-mart / sams club chains. Since you bought it used its a good possiblity thats where it originated.

I didn't buy that "best of Friends" dvds that Warner pumped out a few years ago and I'm not doing it with Night court either. That crap is acceptable with SNL, but with a sitcome thats just lame. Reruns are on every night on TVland so i can make my own dvds from that and WB doesn't get a dime...

Alot of times studios will drop the prices on the 1st season to try and intice new customers. If the price is cheap enough for the 1st season and just an avaerage fan buys it and likes it, they (studios) have a better chance (than the original retail price) of hooking you in to have you purchase...

I relly hope the 2003 FBI/Organized Crime show "Line of Fire" makes it to DVD. That was a great show.
