Like the topic says I have a Rialto for sale in very good and hardly even used condition. I do not have the original box though I do have the manual and will pack it appropriately. Was bought new and only used for the subwoofer crossover. New price was around 400.00+ ,asking $180.00 OBO which...
Hehe figured that would get someones attention:D I agreed to work all the midnight shifts for a girl at work for a year (10 weeks total) in return for the 950's asking price. Not too bad for 10 weeks of mid-shifts! I did the same thing the previous year for her husband and got a Sony 19"...
Well I kind of agree about the bass being too strong in stereo on the 950 though it really only takes about 3-5 seconds to "trim" the sub down. I got my 950 in the second batch and other than the bass thing I have'nt had ANY of the problems that others have had. The real kicker for me was...
Okay sorry for the delay but here are the answers. 1. I drive them with one 2 channel pro audio amp. Each tempest is wired in parallel and recieves approx 600 watts each. 2. Yes I bought some "stuff" that is for lining your kitchen cabinets or drawers with. It is rubber based and keeps them...
I know what you mean Joe. One of my neighbors is too far away. The closest one says it doesn't bother her in her bedroom....the hallway is loud though. The one behind me competes and usually beats me for volume.....though it IS a live band doing it :D Overall I can't complain a bit!
Well if you can just get rid of one of them it should take care of it. I hope it solves your problem because I know what its like having to restrain your sub when you KNOW what it could do while watching a movie. Good Luck and let us know if that fixes the problem!!!
Is the fence physically connetced to both of your houses? If so then yes, though it doesn't amplify it but only transmits. In my case (above) there were 4X4 posts screwed to the sides of both our homes that the fence was attached to which provided a line for the bass vibrations to travel to...
Another factor which may not apply in your case but did in one house I lived in before is any actual physical connection between your houses. For instance me and my neighbor shared a wooden fence that was actually attached to both our houses. Basically a perfect transmission line from mine to...
Well the EBS played lower but also slower :D Seriously the sealed Tempests are much faster and to me seem to have much more impact or a higher slam factor. Instead of only feeling the house shake (which I still do) I now feel a more physical impact as well. Keep in mind that I have mine...
I am currently running 2 Mid-Q 122L Tempest subs. I have them stacked in the front left corner of the room. Yes they are kind of large when stacked but my (now discarded) EBS box actually took up more space. BTW I have them front firing instead of down firing as in the Adire plans.
Well I might have to order some this time. After checking around town after the last sale it seems I can actually save between 2-5 dollars per clamp depending on the size. Thats after shipping to Alaska......not too bad!! Of course it figures that I "could" have used them several days ago...
Hmmm so it would definately require some mods to fit into a Tempest hole pattern.
As to my original question.....
Based on the data available..........how much improvement SPL wise will the new driver be over my existing Tempest???
Given those numbers above.......what could I expect if I dropped that driver in my Tempest EBS (12cuft) box with only 500 watts into it?
Much more noticeable output? Or just a little?
Thanks
All the games listed come with the instruction manuals, original box and "original" CD's. However several may not have the installation instructions if they were seperate from the instruction manual. Though that shouldn't be a problem for most computer gamers Alien VS. Predator 2 $17.00...
Well unfortunately I cancelled my order. It seems that the shipping cost was just too high. 6 clamps =24.00 shipping =35.00. I am sure I can beat that price locally if I look around a little. Oh well congrats to those who were actually able to get the awesome deal!!! BTW the customer...
Well I just placed my order for 6 clamps:)
Awesome price! I just hope the 6.50 shipping applies to Alaska as well.
Heck even at double the shipping price its a great deal.
From everything I have read and heard you are correct. I have played around with using both methods and definately thought that setting the sub crossover all the way up sounded better.
I had a Marantz AV550 and a Velodyne F1500. I also ended up buying a Paradigm X-30 and after fiddling with...
A friend of mine used to be an assistant manager at the brand new (3 years ago) Century 16 here in Anchorage. I got him to give me a tour of the projection rooms and also check out the subs they used.
They use JBL subs and had them underneath the stage. In the larger theater the actual sub...
Oh one more thing :) I did an "amp" face-off with four different amps to see which one I liked better for sound quality with a different Shiva sono-sub (ie larger).
The amps were the Audio Source Amp 5.1 (100@4ohms) , Marantz MA500 (180@4ohms) , Mackie M1400i (500@4ohms) and an AB Systems...
I have an Audio Source Amp 5.1 monoblock. 75x1 @8 ohms and 100@ 4ohms. I use it to run a Shiva sono-sub for my computer sound system. It has never run out of steam yet, but keep in mind I don't do anything near reference level on my computer :)
Another thing ...the manual said it was stable...
Hehe, good luck in Vegas! May the HT upgrade gods smile on you trip:D
I'm headed there myself in the last half of March. I am not going for the gambling (though I will:)) but for a Foosball tournament at the Riviera. I went last year also.... got my butt kicked on the foos tables but had a...
I lived in anchorage since 87 but I moved to Eagle River last august. Finally bought a house! Was hard to find a house I wanted since it had to have an extra room for a dedicated home theater:)
When is the HT cruise and who is going? It would be nice to get together with some of the "lower 48"...
I'm curious as to how many DVD's (and/or cash) you would be willing to trade for A PS2 2 controllers with extension cables , 1 memory card and 6 "sports" games.
Let me know...........
Hey Jeremy, nice to see another Alaskan in here with very similiar setups to boot. Of course since you live here you know how brand limited we are :frowning:
The people at Shimeks are really easy to get along with and usually are very helpful. I have really had nothing but good experiences with...
You might want to look at the Boston Acoustics "CR" series of bookshelf speakers. All of them have metal grills that are a bear to get off or on. Should take care of the little fingers nicely!!
