As of Monday (maybe earlier), Panasonic removed the 720p listing from all their sets that had them. Including this one, the 53WX53. I will be buying the 53WX53 even though it won't display this. I'm not sure there's a better TV for the money. At 47 inches, it's a great TV. Rich
Seth, The bottom line is he said he is going to wait until he can focus the same energy on the DVD Trilogy as he is on a movie. What about that can't you understand? He is no other director, he is his own. and for all the medicority he is raking in millions of dollars. Crap or not, he has...
No offense taken to my points. But here are some more. Lucas said he was busy shooting a movie. That movie IS being shot with a DVD in mind. The time he needs to supervise movies that were shot WITHOUT a DVD in mind simply outweighs his ability or desire to coordinate both simultaneously...
Okay, Can I say this one more time? Please folks, listen up to this will you? 1. George Lucas has not released the Original Trilogy on DVD because he is busy shooting the prequels. It doesn't matter about the 20 years previous and why nothing has come out, the reality is now and he's...
Okay I have a question,
I read in a magazine (Home Theater) that Anthem has a 7 channel amp coming out for a good price. like $1500 i think. What do their pre/pros run? I like the styling and name. From what I know they are pretty good.
Sorry for such a newbie post but i wanted to learn...
You'd be surprised how many people spend $200 on DVDs. I also work part time at FYE in the video department for fun and to know what's going on from a chain point of view.
Say all you want, if that box set came out for $200, people would pick it up in droves. And even Joe 6pack with his wife...
Eric,
Two points. One, I agree about the original cut. I want it too, for the purists, but then I guess we shouldn't complain about it being only in stereo and not 50.1 :) Second, Star Wars has become much more than the presentation of a movie. He is trying to cater to ALL the different...
Here goes,
When I was last at the Ranch, I was privy to some research being done for the DVDs. And no, I doubt you will ever see the original prints (even the ones without the title A New Hope)of the trilogy on DVD.
When Lucas speaks about his archival editions, does anyone remember the...
DanR,
Dear God, that comment was just a joke regarding the whole situation with the "redo" as in E.T..
From what I know, Lucas knows the fans want it, and furthermore, it's been done. There are existing copies of the DVD. But I'm not sure he's happy with them. He also is still preoccupied...
Folks, let me say this for the thousandth time.
Lucasfilm is busy working on the COMPLETION of the LAST STAR WARS movies EVER to be seen on film at the theater. He does not like to lose artistic control over projects regarding Star Wars.
Therefore, we are all waiting for the trilogy AFTER...
Jeffrey,
You're the man! How would you address say having the Denon 5800 (for example only) and having the dual rear center channel speakers? Would you add another monoblock?
Rich
Thanks,
So if I want DTS ES discrete or THX EX surround in a 6.1 channel setup...if I only use 1 center channel rear, I would purchase 6 monoblocks?
And the sub itself would be powered so no worries there?
6 200 watt per channel monoblocks would probably destroy my apartment complex, but man...

Well, considering several prints made it into theaters which showed Maul simply struck down but not in two by Qui-Gonn's saber, that WAS the original ending and it could be considered real.
In a move by Lucas in order to really show the fans he would NOT return, he changed the shot with CGI to...
