I just ordered some seating from "Fusion Collection Seating". They are very popular with some people on some other forums on the internet and so I'm hoping for the best. I ordered four Lagoons in a curved configuration. Expect delivery next week. They offer a great deal of value for the...
Robert tell Scooter I say hello and wish him the best through his fight. I fondly remember Scooterpaloozas in days past. The hot dog cart - the beer - Ron's Ziti - the huge outdoor screen usually showing something that hadn't had general release yet. Scooter was such a great host!!!
Wow that looks great! Exactly what you needed! Glad I could help! Interesting discussion of the lighting.... When we had our tract home built (see my other thread) I had all sorts of stuff installed for my movie room, including sconce locations at about eye level (as well as an in-wall rack...
That ABWH disc was released on DVD, but available only very briefly at the advent of the format. It's not particularly rare, and available on Ebay from many vendors. According to some of the listinegs there was a 2007 release as well. Look it up! Listening in glorious PCM stereo, the sound on...
Yes, and although the X1 can not show more pixels than native DVD, it *can* show the superior color resolution (less banding, etc.), and Blu-Ray discs as well as other HD sources look fabulous. I forgot to mention the screen is 96" in 4:3 mode, making it about a 72" or so in the 16:9 portion.
Hi. I'm old school. Many years ago my life priorities changed such that keeping up with the latest surround formats and home theater technology lost interest with me. Some old schoolers may remember me as a former administrator on this board when I was more engaged in the home theater hobby. My...
Accessories 4 less has great deals. For under $200 there is this: http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXNR414/Onkyo-TX-NR414-5.1-Home-Theaterl-3-D-Ready-Network-A/V-Receiver/1.html among many others. Will kick butt! I'd say go with a new receiver like this one or something else...
Wow this thread has gone off the deep end. Short answers: 1) I don't believe that you'll have an issue with HDCP since it's a digital copy protection scheme and the VGA cable will be sending an analog signal. That box looks like exactly what you need. Set it to 1024x768, the native resolution of...
I just want more albums remixed in multichannel. I already have the SACD of Dark Side and I have all I want of that great album.*
I want "Animals", "The Wall", "Meddle", "The Final Cut" on multichannel but I don't want to have to spend a fortune. Like with the Dark Side SACD. A couple...
I am by no means a darts expert, but I also have a dartboard in my man cave. I'm going for the sports bar theme down there and it's one of the MLB team cabinets which come with a fairly decent playing board. It's not my first board and it's OK; good, not great. It is my experience that...
I have an M-401 in my office. I listen to concert LDs and use it as a 5 disc changer. I haven't gotten around to opening it and looking at the mechanism yet. It's a neat player!
They are definitely very good speakers for the money. The center is articulate and does not sound as "boxy" as many center channel speakers do. The timbre across the front is even, though not in the same league as when I had three identical B&W 602s - that was almost perfect. They jam loud as...
Wow - just read some of the threads there. AA is the last place on the internet where I would ever expect to read anything positive about Sony speakers. The center just arrived in the mail, I'm going downstairs with a handful of DVD-Audios and SACDs - we'll see....
Well, I got them at the local hh gregg brick and mortar and so far I'm very impressed! They not only jam loud (which was my number 1 priority), but they really sound excellent. Fantastic sound quality for the money. I continue to be impressed with Sony brand speakers despite their bad...
Here's the situation: Used to be my "Home Theater" was my primary music listening system. This is no longer the case. I have a stereo in my office where I do most of my music listening. My wife and I moved to a house some years ago and set up a nice home theater in the basement. I...
Joe Jackson is a fantastic songwriter and performer. I own pretty much everything he's ever released, and I've seen him live many times. Start with the CD "Night And Day", then "Look Sharp". Maybe one of the "greatest hits" compilations. "Body and Soul" is a personal favorite, along with the...
I bought an Onkyo HTIB system similar to that one for family members as a gift a few years ago. It's been a good sounding reliable system. I think you'll be very happy with it for many years to come. If you enjoy listening to stereo music, you may want to try your old main front left/right...
Because you reject sanity in the same way that I reject insanity? Or you don't know the difference? Or can't tell the difference? Or never learned to discern sources? Enjoy La-La land. I hear it's a pretty paranoid place.
Dismissing it out of hand is the more sensible, sane route however.
I'm assuming by this you've read the book..otherwise..you're being pre-emptive in your judgment of it.
I make it a point in my life to avoid crazy and insane things like this book. I find that choosing not to...
