Thanks for your comments and link. I did follow up on this and have quite some time looking into the 'new' technology behind the quattron and indeed! Clever marketing and very little new of anything else!
As a result I have settled on the panasonic 65 inch S2. I did look into the rising black...
Hello all; I am close to purchasing a new 60 inch TV and both the units mentioned above have perked my interest. 3D is not currently something I am interested in. I am wary of Plasma just because of the history of these units, and wonder if I am not letting a long term bias against...
Thanks guys....I am planning on hotel-ing it, then spending a few days at least in Los Cabos area before heading back. Thanks nfor the tip Jason...will peruse that for sure! Cheers
Hi everyone...I am contemplating and in the early planning of travelling the entire Baja on motorcycle in January 2011 and wonder if anyone here has done it or has info that could assist me in the planning. I know! I'm from Canada and January ain't no riding weather...I mean to put my bike...
We all know "I love you." Of course, we all understand love differently, but what I am interested in particularly, is what does "I need you" mean differently from "I love you." Is it the same, only said differently? Is a deep need akin to love but somehow fundamentally different?
I know...
In some ways, the finale of BSG, which I have bought every season of as it came out, left me with the same feeling as the 3rd Matrix film. I finally arrived at a state of satisfaction when I watched it a few times and spent not a little time online reading the considerable insight from many...
The first few minutes of the film as it pans throught he universe in total silence is arguably one of the most astonishing opening sequences of any film....ever. I remember it didnt come out in Canada on the same day as in the US and was in fact not scheduled for some weeks after the US...
This is one of those films that has always stuck with me and IMHO right in there with Outland and Screamers; two other films that deserve the BD trreatment!
Went to see the late show tonight with low expectations. I hate it when low expectations are not met. Truly, and unarguably the worst sci fi movie since Battlefield Earth. No redemptive merit whatsoever....horrendous script; appalling acting; miscasting (Kathy Bates as Secretary of Defence...are...
With movies based in some form of history, such as Kingdom of Heaven, I will watch extras that conribute to my understanding of the film and the period. In that vein, Kingdom of heaven has a great extra that illuminates the film's historical setting as it plays. Other films, such as Dark...
Here's the link to the Kultur films edition, but I don't know anything about it. I too have been searching for this film on DVD, but it seems a good edition is impossible to find.

I would love to see this one go to film. IN the early 80's I was with a military operations group that reviewed the staging areas for NATO forces in Germany in the event of an attack by Warsaw pact forces. I was astonished, in reading Red Storm Rising, how detailed and accurate the locations...
Thanks for the comments....in Future Shop, they will be 29.99 and have 9 bucks movie cash for Prince Caspian, bringing it down to almost the same price. A good deal indeed for a couple of nice action flicks. One of the things that struck me, especially about the first one was the almost total...
If I recall correctly; this was one of the first titles to be released on VHS, and I think I paid like $50 bucks for it or something insane (along with my $500 Akai video player). A fav for sure and a no brainer!
One of my top 5 fav sci fi flims..an awesome, intelligent film with a great commentary track on the current release and with all the dark colors in this one...will make an astonishing BD release. Dare I say it will merit a " few words by Robert Harris" :)
ditto the reviews...I pay more attention to reviews of Fox BD than any other. Perhaps it isnt strange then, that I can't find a single Fox BD in my collection. The assininity of their pricing is beyond comprehension and I cannot fathom why anyone would pay them...and no...money is not the...
Don..sharp eye! I actually joined in very early 1997, at the dawn of DVD, having bought a DVD player in March of 1997, about when they first came out. I queried Ron about it once after they did some kind of upgrade and it made a mess of those dates. In essence... I was here before it was...
Are there any web sites that focus on feature length anime films? I have not been much of a fan of the TV/episodic anime in general, but have enjoyed and bought almost 20 feature length films, the latest being 'Appleseed Ex Machina." I would love to find a listing or web site that focuses on...
I bought this and was also somehwat disappointed. I loved this movie when I was young, and the book as well. Perhaps because I was so looking forward to it; the less than even mediocre effort put into this release was all the more sad to feel. Thanks for the review though...nice to see titles...
