Hello HTFers
i was once a regular contributor/agitator on this forum, and I started this challenge. I'm thrilled to see it's still going. LIke, really thrilled. It hasn't changed, hardly at all. I still recognize my own writing in the rules.
The earliest entry i could find was for 2002...
Haven't heard "Naked" but the general ignorance regarding Spector is pretty disheartening. :frowning: If one claims to be a music lover and only knows Phil Spector as the guy who allegedly killed an actress and "overproduced" a Beatles record, you really oughtta do a little reading...and...
This is a brilliantly marketed CD/DVD. The perception to the public is that the DVD has a "bonus" CD, the CD has a "bonus" DVD, while really it's one product in two packages to maximize their economies of scale. I know people who buy tons of CDs, but would never buy a concert DVD and I...
Hey Dudes, You're right...I've been "away" for awhile, but the thought crossed my mind that this challenge must continue with or without me. I had a mind to email/PM Mr. Fitzgerald to ask him to take over "hosting" duties, but I hadn't yet gotten around to it. So, thanks all...I'll try...
The Velvet Underground - V.U. - yes, the album that languished in the vaults for 15 odd years before being released is my fave from the great group. Listen to the playful, joyous guitar on "She's My Best Friend" with headphones sometime and then try to excise it from your head. Go on, I dare...
Well the AFI's lists have been officially stretched to their absolute limit, with this, their sixth. Why not just a special show about heroes and villains in American films? Why do they feel compelled to put them in some order? Will people not watch if someeone doesn't "win?"
William Friedkin...
Does anyone really think Winona Ryder or Kirsten Dunst would have ever agreed to do the film in its current form? Neither have ever even done a nude scene as far as I know. I remember reading that Kirsten Dunst shot a nude/topless scene for Crazy/Beautiful but the director left it up to her...
Interesting that all the press for this lists it as a concurrently released CD and DVD (there's a sticker on the outside of the package of each format saying "DVD/CD also available" and yet, they're not the same thing; the performances are taken from differenet sources, different shows. The...

a purring catice cream sandwichessitting in the dark in a movie theatrethat first sip of a good coffeecoming through the door of your home when you've been away for awhile
Saw it this afternoon at Fifth Avenue, and there was security in place. They had a staff member at the door of the individual theatre, checking tickets...and they carded the guy buying his ticket in front of me. They also made it very clear what I would be seeing via a bright red notification on...
Even worse than the programming itself, is having to listen to people talk about them. Whether it's people at work, talk show hosts, people on the street, or whatever, these things are like an airborne virus, inescapable even if you avoid the actual programming.
I only have the old one. We're not much help, are we? :) I didn't really think the older release was so bad, although it's been a while since I looked at it. It was originally released right around the same time as "Gentlemen's Agreement," "Miracle on 34th Street," etc. The only title I...
I more or less agree with you, although I wouldn't say the "blew it." I think they took a step backward. In addition to some of the things you mentioned, I find the menus tedious and cumbersome to navigate through. I've probably played it a little more than you, so I've had a chance to get...
Have played High Heat and ASB this year. HH took a big leap forward this year, while ASB took a small step backward. Last year, I'd have given ASB the slight edge, but this year, HH is the clear winner. HH: gameplay controls more direct, player graphics WAY improved, and much more...
Just like with the first season, they'll use the release and the beginning of the next season to cross-promote one another. Probably the only way we'll see S2 before a year from now, is if the show isn't renewed for a 4th season (thus eliminating the cross promotion possibility).
