Curious if anyone else is disappointed in the display's 60Hz fresh rate? I have been using a 144Hz monitor on my 16" MacBook Pro and I won't ever go back to under 120Hz again.

After watching that video, it wasn't clear to me if he made any attempt to separate problems that were Big Sur issues vs M1 issues. I read some posts in the comments of that video from people claiming to have some of the problems on their Intel Macs that were running Big Sur.
Either way, I am...
Turns out, that didn't help. ;)
Luckily for me a combination of fear, frugality, and good luck has kept every cell phone I have ever owned in a pristine state until I decided to retire it. Although I did buy AppleCare on my 2017 iMac (which just expired and was never used).
I guess AppleCare...
I may be wrong but last I read browser live streaming was only supported when using Chrome. Google said they were going to support other browsers but I don't think that has happened yet.

So I finally saw Captain Marvel yesterday. Reasonably entertaining, if I ranked the MCU movies I am guessing it would fall mid pack, or just below.
The biggest issue I had with it was that Brie Larson does a really bad Tony Stark imitation. She just seemed awkward when trying to deliver the...

The Streisand effect is a phenomenon whereby an attempt to hide, remove, or censor a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely, usually facilitated by the internet...
It is named after American entertainer Barbra Streisand...
I don't use or visit RT much, however I don't understand why so many people are getting this thing with Captain Marvel wrong. These were not reviews.
Apparently RT had a system where users could vote on whether they wanted to see a upcoming movie. In the case of Captain Marvel, because some...
Agreed. I only started watching Modern Family a few years ago, and mostly only the syndicated reruns. Season 9 was the first season I watched as it aired. When I heard the announcement that it looked like season 10 was probably going to be the last year I was a bit disappointed…that is until I...
I was looking at this unit as well. I just need something to go to 3.1 (center, L/R front and sub) over the built-in TV speakers. I saw Accessories4less has a Denon refurb S740H for $249.00, comes with a 1 year Denon warranty. Looks like they have the other Denon units on your list as well...
The outcome of the Saints/Rams game was irrelevant, the Patriots won the championship when they beat the Chiefs. The Super Bowl is just a formality at this point. ;)
I do find the "Patriot hate" rather humorous. There is certainly a crowd of people that really seem to dislike them. They have a...
If I am understanding this correctly, this HDMI switch from Monoprice will pull the audio out of HDMI sources. Maybe this could be used to drive your soundbar assuming you are using HDMI for input? It is only $45 and could be returned if it doesn't work.

Everyone has different ideas how much their time is worth. It seems to me, based on your description, it is conceivable this could take 100 hours or more of your time (and I am betting more).
If a scanning service charges you $1500 and doing it yourself you spend $500 on a scanner, the extra...
The Purple mattress? I really like it. Very comfortable and no problems with heat through the summer. I purchased an original style Purple mattress. The place I bought it from also had Purple's newer mattresses (hybrid design, includes coils) as well which I liked even more but they were more...
About 4 months ago I got a Purple mattress. At the time I also looked at traditional mattress/box spring set ups. As I recall, as long as you have proper support for the mattress, a box spring isn't needed. However, I have read that some mattresses require sitting on a box spring as part of...
Apparently Apple has extended the battery-performance management to the iPhone 8, 8+ and X in iOS 12.1. From the release notes…
I am too lazy to do a search but I thought Apple indicated, when this originally came to light, that those models wouldn't require such management? (could be wrong...
