Is there any point buying into this series now? The first season is down to $13.49, but at the season two pricing, I can't see Warner rushing to release any more, so it's likely I'll wind up with only the first season.
Warner's rehash box sets are also missing an opportunity to include a blu Bridges of Madison County. Beguiled and High Plains Drifter would be on my list too.
A little late to the party, but Showcase just began airing S1 so I got the PVR busy, but already have the S2 bluray in transit. Looking for the S1 bluray, I am completely confused as to which version is which and what comes with it. I understand the original 5 disc release had a George Bush head...
No, it just shows that there is a limited demand for titles in this pricing tier. Had this come out at $15, they probably could have sold 3000 copies with no problem, but as the price increases the number of people willing to pay it diminishes, especially on lesser known titles.
I don't see any reason this couldn't have been included in one of the season sets, other than a way to grab a little more cash out of the franchise. If anything, it could have been included in the sets and be available standalone for those not willing to fork out for the sets.
Once this hits the bargain bin I'll have no problem buying it as I didn't mind the webisodes, but $25 for what should have been a pilot is way to much for what it is. It's too bad B&C didn't get off the ground as a series, as it showed promise. There needs to be more BSG, and working in the...
This better not be released through the archives. TWATL has been released on mainstream home video in every incarnation, so it is not unreasonable to expect a mainstream Bluray release as well.
From a practical perspective, I would much rather have a cloud based film library - the space savings, and convenience of a simple touch screen search and instant availability would be ideal. Not to mention never having your media fail (which I have experienced) or "improved" versions constantly...
It would be interesting to see a new series set in Twin Peaks, but not necessarily a continuation other than references to the events of the past. I do hope FWWM finally gets released with the deleted scenes.
There's a lot of unresolved storylines still in play, so to wrap it all in one episode seems like a stretch. We have a mutiny to deal with. The XO has to learn about his wife, but only after he's slept with the French chick. The fate of conspirators has to be revealed. The Chinese need to get...
Is anybody else still watching this? With only one more episode to wrap the series, it has been pretty good so far, and has sure gotten a lot more complicated over the last few episodes. Sure, there have been a lot of holes in the story telling, but no show is perfect. Lost was a great show...
I am very happy with Acorn's handling of Poirot so far, so if they now have a majority stake in the Christie holdings, the only things preventing more quality releases will be available elements and existing distribution agreements. For Poirot, it looks like series 7 and 8 could be released...
Although I'd prefer they came quicker, if waiting means a better end product the make it so. I would not be surprised to see three seasons this year though if they are spaced 4 months apart.
I enjoyed S2 a lot more than I anticipated, there are a lot of memorable episodes here. The extended cut of "Measure of a man" was very nice to see. It was also interesting to see actors from series I hadn't recognized before - Mädchen Amick and Carel Struycken (Twin Peaks) and then there's...
Whatever you do, do NOT google season 4 if you want to avoid major spoilers. I only wanted to see if the show had been renewed, not to find out what I know now.
I'm liking the start of S3, although there does seem to be a bit more drama than there really needs to be. Anyone know if there's a season 4 planned yet? The Blus are beyond my price at the moment, so the PVR will have to do for now.
I quite enjoyed the two hour premiere of S3, but anyone watching on PBS would be well advised to avoid the next episode preview which is a complete spoiler fest.
I disagree about the replacement issue, as I doubt it will affect anywhere near as many episodes as the S1 problem did (4 out of 5 discs!) IF the issues are as glaring as they are being made out to be.
I'll be curious to see just how glaring some of these shots look in motion, as the caps don't make them appear all too great. I'm sure if they are glaring enough CBS will offer replacements as they did for S1.
I got on chat with a service rep who said she couldn't cancel my order. It was placed outside my account (couldn't log on when I ordered due to server issues).
Quote: " I understand your concern. However, once an order is authorized we will be unable to cancel the order. As we are unable to...
I don't think it's harsh at all, this is just pathetic customer service and a really poor order policy in this day and age. I can see there being an issue if the item is in the process of shipping or had already shipped, but what is completely unacceptable is that they won't cancel items/orders...
Half price sale or not, that is the last time I'm shopping at Barnes & Noble. After placing an order with no confirmation during Sandy, I placed it again the following day. Checking through my emails I find that the first order did get placed - with confirmation 6 days later - and now they...
