What sub are you using? If you can get 2.0 your sub will convert it to 2.1 if it has full range speaker inputs and outputs and a built in crossover. Kinda a pita workaround but will work...
Yamaha is very forgiving, warm and musical. In addition to verifying crossover is 80 across the board I would also try backing off the treble slightly, enough to take the edge off but not lose details.
Good catch John, my bad I didnt look hard beyond manufactures' 20 hz claimed.
Brad as budget permits I would recommend a pair of new subs.
Ive not looked in years as my pair of Hsu mid bass monitors and twin subs are still going strong after a decade of service (gotta love that) but there...
Brad one other thing to consider is upgrading to a dual sub set up. In a "mainly movie watching" system such as yours, where everything is crossed over at 80hz, most of the heavy lifting and serious power is done by your sub. The XPA line will give you bragging rights but unless you can...
Any external amp will be a worthy upgrade over an AVR, better power on tap for improved dynamics and overall power. That having been said, as a 10 channel XPA owner lile myself will likely admit, its
a foregone conclusion 200 watts per channel is wayyy overkill for what most home theater users...
Never been a big believer in power conditioning. Surge protection yes but conditioning no. If you live in an area prone to lightning storms (Florida comes to mind) or an area with unstable power surge protection is even more important.
Ive been pretty happy with playfi, though I use it only for Tidal. Bit annoying the playfi app doesnt indicate master tracks, albums ect and you have to go to the Tidal app to see if theres a master version you can add to your playlist. Otherwise playfi is plenty stable and a good performer...
Jerry makes some great points in this enlightened article. Im a light audiophile myself but I was proud of myself that I had acheived at least a couple of his suggestions all on my own; get all your gear away from your living space, put it all in a closet (or a rack) and investing in...
Seems to me in the residential market these crazy channel counts are just marketing fluff. Even Atmos is impractical to all but the most dedicated enthuiasts and, in my opinion, will remain niche for some time to come. More channels are nice, sure, but until we see anything native beyond...
Audioholics just released some details on new models. Lots of folks requesting independent sub outputs and it looks like theyve finally got it with this new generation. As a 720 owner Im not sure if this new generation is worth the upgrade (yet)...
I guess I need to reach out to Monoprice. Cables sent are labeled "High Speed" but the packaging specifically lists "4K/60 HDR" yada yada on the packaging. From what Ive read High Speed caps at 4K/24 and 'Ultra/Premium' High Speed is required for 4K/60. Why wouldnt they label the cables as...
It might be normal but I doubt it since no Integra owners have responded. Ive never heard that from any of my AVRs but Ive never owned Integra either. Process of elimination; start by disabling wifi updates and network. Then disable HDMI pass-through. Power off all sources. Disconnect...
