There's an interesting dynamic at play when it comes to the music-laden shows being released by third parties, and it's something that drastically affects the licensing of music... When a major studio looks to clear music for a release, they look to license the song worldwide, in perpetuity...

Unfortunately that's all we have to go on. You're right though, the running time is definitely a bit odd. There were 34 episodes, and they're saying 687 mins, which makes the episodes just over 20 mins each. They should be about 24-25 mins, given the age of the show.

Well, if people don't buy the sets as they're released the possibility of the show being finished is slim. That's the case for any show.
