Why do they make multi-zone/room receivers and then phase out analog audio..know they wont demux the DTS/DD to 2.0 for the Zone 2?..Dang Them ! Is there a way to look up a BD player and see if will out put both formats (analog & HDMI) concurrently?

UNLESS the cable/SAT box will out put RCA analog and HDI-Digital audio at the same time..correct?

It appears even the X3000 manual says if you want the same source on ZOne 1 7 2...audio might be restricted. Thanks for your help

It is not possible to play the digital audio signals input from the HDMI,COAXIAL or OPTICAL connectors in ZONE2. Play using analogconnections (in stereo). This is from the Denon Manual..I'm assuming this is pretty much standard on recievers. So ANY HDMI input I put into this thing..is NOT...

LOL..ok..$1500-$3000 is MORE than he wants to pay. The Onkyo HT-RC560 I was looking at is like $400...much better :)

Hmm...so a Bluray/SAT/Cable box HDMI input to the receiver..would not be able to play on both Zones?...only RCA inputs can? Also, How can I tell if the Zone 2 volume can be seperated?

Don't really want to use a second amp. Inconveience for the friend. I saw a Onkyo online...but when using A+B..it cuts the A channel from 5.1 to 2.1. Would a 7.1 Reciever work using 5.1 for the inside and the addition 2 surrond channels for the outside lanai?....IE a powered zone 2?
