looking forward to seeing these releases - I would assume there hasn't been any news regarding the audio - if they are going to get repurposed 7.1 mixes from the original EX/ES 6.1 masters.
let me clarify - since I'm not seeing the edit button on my posting - DCI compliant audio processors can extract left/center + right/center sound sources - since no Studio has yet to actual encode a feature film as such - any and all pre 1977 70mm 6-track sound films (or even 8-channel SDDS...
given the number of theaters that still show 70mm and have Digital projection - those screens still have five screen channel speakers (even Dolby Atmos theaters are configured as such behind the screen) - there is absolutely no reason why NOT the DCP's could feature the original TODD-AO original...

as were the 70mm prints that were screened at the AFI Silver and the Film Society of Lincoln Center - how DTS/Datasat got the original mix and was able to archive it and encode it on discs for select 70mm prints - and then for MGM to blatantly say to Twilight Time the sound elements are now...
I don't get that either Charles - I'm in the same boat as you - ordered day 1, live in DC which is a hop, skip and jump from them and still haven't received the discs.
from what I've been hearing Nick Redman states 6-track 70mm audio is 'lost' - that doesn't add up, since 'restored' 70mm prints were shown at both the AFI Silver and Film Society of Lincoln Center in 2012 (I saw and heard it at the former) and the original five front channel/mono surround mix...
