Star Wars: The Last Jedi discussion thread(Warning: Spoilers!)

Seemed to me the movie had too many false endings. End it 30 minutes sooner. Leigh dying in space would've been perfect. Fitting end. After that moment, her character didn't add anything another character couldn't supply. Major plot hole, but why wait to destroy the cruiser? 3 - 5 star...

    Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

This wasn't one of those movies that I thought was worth seeing in 3D. My wife and I saw the regular version of it but both of us enjoyed the movie. ST: ID is a popcorn flick. It is not one of those movies you will look back on and say it was the greatest of it's time or even of the entire ST...

    Adding more subwoofers....

I would add dual Outlaw LFM1-EX, dual Power Sound Audio XV15s, the Funk Audio 15.0 and the SVS PB13-ULTRA to the mix. You may be able to pick up a good used sub through the AVSForum classifieds as well, including a couple of Rythmik FV15HP subs. Hard to go wrong with any of those subs...

    help picking a sub

To the OP, unsure of where you are located, but there is a used SVS SB13-Ultra up for sale in AVSforum classifieds. Asking price is $850. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1471976/svs-pb-ultra13

    help picking a sub

Had a 20-39CS for several years and enjoyed it. 2nd best sub I've ever owned, bested only by the PSA XS30 I have now. Changed subs initially due to WAF. Most recently due to upgraditis and the AV123 Onix Rocket UFW-10 wasn't cutting it.

    help picking a sub

What size is the room, including openings, and how loud do you like to listen to your home theater? The SVS SB12-NSD has been recommended numerous times. The Outlaw LFM1-EX is another solid performer. The Rythmik Audio LVR-12 could be in the mix as well. For $800, the Power Sound Audio XV15...

Another "New room, need suggestions" thread on wall speakers. ;)

It is more likely you will be piecing it together slowly. Check out some of Axiom Audio's deals, b-stock, or other auctions. They have a VP150 in-wall/on-wall center being offered for $113 but I think it will likely end up in the $300 range. I have their M22 on-walls with the regular VP160...

Good Speakers and Sub woofer for Basement Home theater

I'd go with the Power Sound Audio XV15 sub for $799 delivered. Likely will be more than what you need. For the speakers, check out Craigslist and see if someone is selling some good ones for cheap in your area.

    Suggestions on speakers to buy

What will you be using to power the speakers? "I've owned a number of computer speakers over the years." If the ones you pawned sounded best to you, why not buy the same ones even though they may be used? You are unlikely to find love for Bose on most any home theater forum. However, as you...

    new system, input wanted

It depends upon what your priorities are. What is your room size (including all openings) and prefered listening levels? Just don't be surprised to spend 25-35% of your budget on a sub. To me, the sub can make or break a HT system. Everythings top notch but the sub is lacking. You will notice it...

    What happened to Epick?

Two problems initially. 1st, he sold far too much during his Black Friday sale. Demand far outpaced supply so it was easy for him to become overwhelmed. 2nd, amp issues abound with the subs. Separately, he might have been able to get caught back up and saved his reputation. Taken together, it...

    Subs for music

What is your budget for a sub? Generally, sealed subs perform better for music and ported subs perform better for HT. Perhaps something along the lines of the SVS PB-1000 or an excellent used sub would be the way to go.

    In-ceiling center and front speakers?

Might I be so bold as to recommend Axiom (I have M22 on-walls with a VP160 center powered by a Yamaha RX-V1065) as a possibility for some in-wall/on-wall speakers? As the surrounds don't matter too much, I went with Polk Audio RC80i's. The Axioms are paintable or have a variety of colors you can...

    In wall speaker help

I imagine you could do that but you will have to angle it towards your listening position which may sound odd. I imagine you would enjoy it more if the center were below the TV. Another consideration would the weight of the center. Don't want something too heavy which may cause potential damage...

    In-ceiling center and front speakers?

Have you thought about in-wall or on-wall speakers rather than in-ceiling fronts? My in-laws have in-ceiling front left and right speakers. To me they just sound odd. I have on-wall fronts which sound much better, IMO.
