The AV rack is Solid Steel, with each shelf on isolation cones. From top to bottom: DVD Player is the Pioneer Elite DV-09; Pre/pro is the Sunfire Theater Grand; and the amp is a Sunfire Cinema Grand.

This is the entrance to our dedicated HT, at the head of the stairs of our remodeled attic. (We picked this poster primarily for the slogan: "Celebrating youth, friendship, and the everlasting magic of the movies",and because it’s one of our favorite foreign films - so the Hirsch HT is Cinema Paradiso.)

From the second row, you can see the Sony 400Q LCD projector under the endtable between the front two chairs. Front floor-standing speakers are Hales Revelation 3, and the center channel speaker is the Hales Revelation, which is extremely crisp for dialogue. This space was a semi-finished attic, and was paneled in the wood you see here - 1913 quarter-sawn Douglas fir. Lighting is low-voltage, on a Lutron Spacer dimmable remote, to get that theater-like effect of "lights down" as the film starts.

From the front of the room (at the screen), you can more clearly see the Sony 400Q projector under the endtable. The theater takes up approximately 2/3 of the room; at the other end is an office/den. Behind the brick chimney wall that displays the Cinema Paradiso poster is an alcove/kitchenette with bar sink, microwave for popcorn, and refrigerator/icemaker for drinks.

This is from the rear of the HT space, which is approx. 15’ x 40’. The rear surrounds (Hales Revelation 1) are on stands to either side of the photo; the DVD cabinet and AV rack are along the left wall. The screen is a 102" Da-Lite 2.0 gain Perma-Wall. We have two rows of "permanent seating" , which are reclining Mission-style Morris chairs; the second row is on a platform for ease of viewing over the front row. On the floor in front of the chairs are throw pillows for kids, and two rockers and ottomans can be pulled up, one to either side, to seat 6 adults comfortably.
