* Be absolutely certain to read the rules completely before entering the chat room. We will be removing anyone that does not adhere to chat procedures.
When you have read the rules fully click on the green GO CHAT link at the bottom of this page.
Due to the high volume of participants, we find it necessary to enforce guidelines that will make our chat session an orderly one, where everyone will have the opportunity to have a turn in participating.
1. There will be a moderator of this live chat. That person will announce himself or herself at the start of the chat session.
2. The Guest will be introduced and will have the opportunity to make any remarks. Afterward, the moderator will announce that the chat session has begun.
3. Once the session begins, participants are asked to type the word "YO" (without quotes) to indicate they wish to ask a question. The moderator will keep track of the exact order that people "YO" in, and will call out names in that order. Note: The order that the moderator has may not be the order that you have listed. He will call on you in the order in which he gets them on his end.
4. When your name is announced by the moderator, you may ask your question. Please let the group know when you are done by typing "end", so that we may move on to the next participant.
5. If you have already had the chance to ask a question do not "YO" back in again until everyone has had a chance to ask a question. When everyone has had a chance to ask a question then you can ask a question again.
6. Please refrain from being disruptive to other people, and avoid typing in questions before your turn is announced.
7. Do not send any private messages to the guest during these chats. Doing so will get you kicked out of the chat.
**8. As in the forum we want people to know who you are. We don't want bogus user names being used and if used will be banned from the rest of the chat.
9. While in the chat if you are using the embedded client and you see a message that says: "Cannot send to channel: #htf" it is because the channel is moderated and only allows you to post a message when you are told it is your turn to do so. If you use an IRC client like mIRC or Snak and get the message "You need voice (+v) (#htf)" it is for the same reason.
Once in the chat you may change your nickname to your user name on the forum by typing in a name in the Change Nick To box in the lower right hand corner.
Thanks,
Ron Epstein

Note: The best way to access the chat is to use our embedded Mibbit client on the chat page. If you prefer you can use an IRC program like mIRC for the PC or Snak for the Mac. Once you have one of these installed connect to the irc channel irc.shadowfire.org and join channel #htf. |
